I honestly don't know how you people can survive with only five or six

I actually rarely lose place (only on dual columned taskbars), mostly because I know the general location of where things are

Heh, my multi-monitor setup hadn't increased the number of applications I used, or decreased. I just spread them over so I have mIRC and other chat up all the time on the other monitor, firefox and other crap on my main monitor.

I wish I had a digital camera for taking pictures of my desktop now.

Including instant messagers, I usually have 20+ open by the end of the day... That's why I'm glad that XP has common window grouping!

I hate that feature personally, because it tends to group windows I don't want to be grouped. :/ I tend to prefer tabs within programs over the grouping feature.

I only like grouping because it keeps tasks together, I hate it when it starts compressing them down (never noticed? if there's enough room, programs will be aligned next to eachother with "grouping" on, instead of being distributed in terms of "first opened")

It really helps to have all of my IM boxes in one sction of the taskbar

Wow thats a lot of windows. Although I've had over a hundred before because of a WLM Beta glitch (when I clicked the mail icon once it caused an uncountable amount of windows to start opening. They just kept coming and coming until I eventually had to restart my computer because for every one I tried to close at least 2 more opened.

Task manager is good stuff. And Google Gadgets. Especially the NPR one.

Maybe because we arent as busy

Also: I never liked window groupings. It makes me think I closed something when I didnt, or have something open that I dont =/

I mean grouping as in keeping [Hiryuu][Aiya][Ailure] together, and not [Hiryuu][x.png][EditPlus][Aiya] and whatnot, so that the programs are together. It works best with a vertical taskbar, since they rarely close groups (they just switch to 2 column mode)...

But yes, when it starts closing groups, it sucks

I tried but everythime I tried to open it it just got buried in with the windows and I couldn't do anything. One time I did get to "end process" but after 5 minutes it still didn't do anything. The problem seems to be fixed now so it doesn't really matter.

I only use one to three windows at a time, so I don't see any point in keeping so much stuff open.

I generally don't have that many windows open at a time. And I can't stand grouped taskbar windows. I leave that "feature" off.

Meh, its either one of the following setups for me:

Firefox, mIRC, AIM (and AIM chats if I'm talking to anyone (usually just Hiryuu and someone else from my arcade )), WinAMP, and extra windows of stuff

OR

mIRC, AIM (plus chats), StepMania

Usually it doesn't go past that unless I have good reasons. Sometimes I pop up Photoshop....

I can't see myself with 30 windows open.

I tend to have these windows open quite often:

- Firefox
- Winamp
- A random folder
- A random notepad
- An emulator

So pretty much, I have up to 5 windows at a time open quite often.

Yeah out of curiosity, who actually uses the 'group similar taskbar buttons'?

Like I said, it's a billion times less annoying and a billion times more useful when you have a vertical taskbar

Hmm...
I should try that then.
*moves taskbar to rightside*

Huh... COOL IT SHOWS THE DATE!
I'll find a good reason for it to be vertical later.
