Now, I wasn't sure whether to put this in Computing or Gaming, if it belongs in Computing, just yell at me and I'll request a forum move.
Anyway, on to the topic... I was reading up on DS homebrew and came across the dilemma of me not having any kind of GBA flash card, movie player, M3 DS Simply, or anything to that effect. But, I thought, I do have an Action Replay. No, not the "Duo MAX" kind, either. Now, I know that the AR has NoPass functionality, but like I said, I have no Slot-2 media. Anyway, I figured, since the AR has a USB port through which codes are transferred and saved onto the AR cartridge, there's got to be some kind of a modified driver that allows one to use the AR as a "flash drive" of sorts. I looked around a bit, but found nothing. So, my question is: Has anyone heard, seen, or otherwise come across anything of this sort? If so, that would be really cool and useful! Thanks for sitting through this long and boring explanation, and thanks in advance for posting! |

You would need something to load the data and patch it through the DS.
In short: Not happening. ____________________ I miss post headers more. |

Well, I wasn't around when we had the last Happy Hour. And if by "Around" you mean a member of the board, then ok, but I still never heard about it...
Anyway, hows about an answer to my original question? |

No I haven't heard of AR being used, but I have heard people using SD card writers as a flashcart uploader ____________________ |

I think he means the device named R4 which holds 4 games for the DS downloaded from the internet. ____________________ Happiness is an internet without the idiocy. Z-bot pic a la Peardian |

Why not get a USB dongle? Those are cheap and would most likely store much more data. |

Because I'm trying to use the AR to run homebrew on the DS. I already have a USB stick. |

This is certainly possible, and something I'll try to do eventually. However it'll require figuring out how to use ARDS' USB port and writing a client for the DS. |

Boy, that'd be, like, really, really awesome. Seems like it would take a while though. |
