It all looks like boxanese to me.

Believe me, Japanese makes no sense whatsoever.
Especially when you lack the proper fonts... (which explains the boxes you get ).

I'm planning on a minor in japanese along with my major in journalism, but so far, my knowledge of the language is fairly low. I know enough sentence structure and grammar to translate non-complicated sentences if I have access to a dictionary, but since I only know about half the kana and around 20 kanji at most... yeah, I suck.

At least I know enough to laugh at the anime tards who boast about their amazing fluency in the language to their peer at various forums, which makes everything worth it.

You should learn all of the kana first before kanji.

Adamant, everyone learns at different levels, so don't feel that you "suck." But it is a good idea to learn the kana first before going to the kanji. Also, if anyone is having problems registering on NFF, please let me know via AIM or Skype (s/n are in my profile) since there's no PM system here yet.

"Suck" is such a nasty word. I'm terrible at Japanese.

Yeah, I know I should learn the kana first, it's just that most of my knowledge hasn't been so much "learned" as "picked up". You see the kanji for "dai", "ou", "shiro", "nin" and such so often that you end up learning them whether you want to or not

I managed to translate all of this from scratch, though, but it kinda requires you to be rather fluent in Norwegian to vouch for the translation's quality. E

I don´t get boxes. I get question marks.

I think I know a few japanese phrases. Other than that, not much.

I know no Japanese, but maybe one of you can tell me what some of the comments on this site say? They are talking about my Super Mario Kart hack and I'd love to know what's been said about it.

I’ve only got a rather poor Google translation - but I love this bit:

It is remodelling [mariokato].
The strange person has participated.

Poor Baldy - he's not *that* strange
