Err...I -think- it is. If I'm not mistaken.
I don't think I've ever picked up a pack of Kingston and have it say 'for Windows operating systems only' at least. |

Sometimes the sockets are different. (I speak from experience here.) The different sockets are so you can plug in a memory module and know that if it fits it will work. If it's incompatible it won't fit. And that means I can't upgrade my computer with my 256mb module. ____________________ "I'm sick of it and I'm out. See you around." ~Cpu's last post here |

Uh...
Yea, the sockets are different for differing speeds of RAM, not because one's a MAC and one's a WHINEDOZE. For instance, PC-3100 doesn't fit into a PC-100 regardless of if they're both 128MB strips or not. The PC-3100 is going to rock a lot more ass but you're SOL if it doesn't fit and isn't compatible to the -motherboard-...not necessarily what OS you're running. Worst case scenario, you load it up and it gives you a page fault, a registry error or it doesn't load at all. |

The letters on the box probably just mean the RAM is guaranteed to work in a Mac, kinda like those white SD cards for the Wii (they're just standard cards). If it fits effortlessly in your PC, it'll probably work just fine. ____________________ [citation needed] |

And anyone stupid enough to do that deserves to have a broken floppy drive. ____________________ [citation needed] |

People still use floppy drives?
IIRC correctly back in the early days there actually were two types of RAM that were keyed the same. ____________________ What FF7: Advent Children Character Are You? |

True, but nowdays the RAM won't fit if it won't work/will get fried. (On the other hand, if you get cheap RAM, it might fry anyways.)
...Yes, Koitenshin, people still use floppy drives. I have one in every computer I use or have built (except my dad's laptop, which doesn't have one). Believe me, you still need them if you want to be able to properly repartition your HD. (Windows XP cd = ) ____________________ "I'm sick of it and I'm out. See you around." ~Cpu's last post here |

Yeah, USB is great, until you're working with a computer in safe mode, at a command prompt, or one that doesn't support USB booting. This is why the floppy drive will never truly die. ____________________ [citation needed] |

Or tape. Tape still exists for many backups. I'd rather not use one but I was impressed just like the next person with half-gig storage tapes back in the early 90s. Made it a lot easier than floppies until ZIP/JAZ drives came, then CDs. |
