I'm talking about the list of sites that you have saved in your browser for easy access. How do you organize them if you do?
I have four submenus of my bookmarks menu simply because I have enough bookmarks that they would otherwise be too big for the screen and scroll down. I have: - Message boards (this is the only one I post at, but I lurk at others occasionally or habitually) - School-related sites which I must access often to check grades, submit assignments, and submit my worked hours so I get paid, and also stuff like ratemyprofessors.com (which I always check when signing up for classes each semester). - Uh, fetish material. Some of it is actually HTML code for images entirely contained on my hard drive (after some sites went down, I got into the habit of saving images from as many sites as possible). - An "Other" category, where I toss links to sites I think are good or funny or want to refer back to, but don't visit habitually, so they don't clog up the rest of the list. Outside of the categories, I have my most frequently visited sites that don't fit any of the categories, including both webmail accounts, Wikipedia, a weather site, and several others. Some people are surprised that I have no search engines bookmarked, but I just use the Google bar at the upper right-hand corner of the Firefox window if I want to search the Web. The bookmarks themselves aren't really in any order except for the submenus being at the top and E-mail accounts below that. Otherwise, it's just the order I bookmarked the sites as Firefox adds new ones to the end. In IE, I only have a few online radio stations bookmarked, because that's all I ever use IE for. |

I rarely use favorites because I memorize most of the websites, but for those sites that are hard to memorize I just add them without any organization, although I ought to sort them because the list is getting large. |

Least used: - whocalled.us, X, PS3 (kept mostly for entertainment, the "press release in 3 minutes" video featuring massive damage), LJF (nobody updates anymore), WPTS, A (kept as a refrence). No, I'm not saying where any of them go, but you're free to try guessing ____________________ I dealt with it. |

I have a lot of URLs memorized as well, but I'm lazy and would rather click on the name than type the URL (or the first few letters and hope the autocomplete has the main page and isn't just crowded with links). Also, I tend to forget URLs for boards especially. I keep asking myself "Is it board or forum? Singular or plural? A subdomain name or folder name? And what's the TLD, anyway?" and then try boards.whatever.com, board.whatever.net, forums.whatever.org, and eventually give up in disgust or try Google. |

That's probably just shorthand for some online virus scanner, or maybe a joke. Anyway, I add a lot of bookmarks, rarely go back to the sites again, and never organize them. My bookmark list is about 2.5 screens tall (that's on a 1280x1024 rez, too...). 
At least I have the Google Browser Sync plugin for Firefox. It's almost essential if you dual-boot/use multiple PCs. It lets you keep tabs open between sessions and syncs your bookmarks, cookies and saved passwords. Still, I wonder just how useful bookmarks are when I can't find the ones I need without lots of careful reading. ____________________ What sig? I don't have a sig.  |

I organize my bookmarks by putting them in some folders and the rest I just leave them to form a giant list below the folder.
Here's some of my folders: Message Boards: This one is pretty obvious. Rom Hacking: Things like romhacking.net that I keep in here. Web Comics: Another obvious one. Emulation: Mostly full of Rom sites Miscellaneous: Crap that I randomly bookmark because my list was getting way too big. May need to make a second Misc. folder sometime. |
