Why don't you let your grandpa know he's keeping you up?
With some assistance of fires from hell?!

If they ever come up with a casino version of Solitaire, heaven help us all.

(They probably have one in VLT's to begin with.)

Ouch, that hurts

Makes me remember my old days, where my dad keep banging into my room to burn his DVDs

That's what I kept saying. I mean, he says all they do is play freecell, solitaire, and email AOL jokes and other stuff on the tubes.

At least they don't watch youtube movies of super hyper, obnoxious, and loud japanese anime while you're trying to sleep (glares at ex-roommate ).

My parents used to always come into the computer room, as it doubled as a generic storage room. It drove me nuts, especially if they asked what I was doing. Sheesh, can't you tell from what's on the screen?

<laptuna> - cousin coming in room, youtubing and being an annoyance

But then again, I said:
<Drag> Nobody did anything to screw anything up!
<Drag> Now, because of this, xk still won't have a good morning, because his grandparents probably will throw a bowling ball at him to wake him up
<Drag> I swear, when it's not us, it's them, and when it's not them, it's us

earlier today, hopefully xk will never have to deal with that.

So yeah... what strikes me odd is that your granparents are in the room at 5 am... do they ever sleep? It seems that they don't understand that in order for you to not sleep during the day, you need sleep at night. Even worse is that your grandfather needs the light on for some reason. Maybe would a desk lamp help or something? I'd imagine it's next to impossible to reason with them about what time is 'computer time' and what time isn't.

And then banging on the windows until I woke up and screamed

QUIT BANGING ON THE GODDAMN WINDOWS

Since aparrently they were too stupid to have an actual set of keys.
Mind you this was my aunt, cousin, and grandma all at once, maybe more.

One thing you can do is block some of the more commonly visited websites in the hosts file. If they ask, tell them they probably picked up a virus off some shady website. I used a similar trick at school: it was impossible to actually use the computers in one class (in which a lot of assignments involved researching things online), because people would spend all day on them pretending to work while really just using MSN. So I wrote a program that would automatically close any MSN window that opened and put it on one. Voila, there was always a computer free for those who actually needed it.

Most of what they do besides hoyle card games is just AOL email over the oldnet.

Oh, here's a new one from today:

Grandma: Comes in room, clicks off rotary fan YOU DON'T NEED TWO OF THOSE RUNNING.
Xkeeper: Uh... why? Noting that it's still the hottest room in the house, anyway
Grandma: WE JUST GOT OUR POWER BILL AND IT WAS $280!!!
Xkeeper: ... Okay. And you leave the jumbotron on all the time, even when nobody's in it.
Grandma: THATS BECAUSE IT TAKES JUST AS MUCH POWER TO TURN IT OFF AND ON THAN TO JUST LEAVE IT ON!
Xkeeper: ... No. See, when it's off, it uses zero power... oh, fuck it, it's impossible to argue with you.

Wait.
Henderson, NV: Boring, 106°F (41.1°C) - Forecast: Clear; High: 107°F (41.7°C), Low: 81°F (27.2°C)

Xkeeper: Okay, if you're so uptight about the power bill...

Xkeeper: WHY ARE YOU RUNNING TWO FREEZERS, OUTDOORS, IN 106°F HEAT?!?!

Seriously, the logic in this place astounds me.

I hope I never get this old (and stupid).
