Hey guys.


Im putting SMB Extreme on hiatus until I get the glitches and screw-ups out of it. Meanwhile, Im working on a new hack for you guys. I only have one screen and I will tell you the changes and how they are closely similar to Paper Mario.

Pipes: I made custom pipes that are based on the paper pipes from Paper Mario 2. These are my best effort.

Mario: SMW Mario was only edited a bit. I have to give him a black outline in order to look paper-esque.

Mushrooms: Resembling the Mushroom item from PM.

Fire Flower: Also resembling the Fire Flower from PM.

Turn blocks: Yellow turn blocks are just like how they were in SMW. And the gray Turn block is based on the stone block which could be broken with the Super Hammer from PM. These are unbreakable because they are edited cement blocks.

? Blocks: Couldn't get a good ref of a ? Block from Super Paper Mario or any other PM game so I tried my best. They don't animate.

Dragon Coin: The Dragon coin is the yellow diamond also known as a Star Piece. Not much to say about this.

A Demo is expected to come out in May.

Any suggestions? Wanna help? Can you help me with any additional GFX help? Just give me a PM (Not Paper Mario, just personal message)

Remoga Sanctum Remnic, those pipes look terrible. The forest graphics look okay though. I hope you'll eventually change Mario and the ? block

But Pac, thats how the pipes look in Paper Mario: Thousand Year Door and in Super Paper Mario.

EDIT: And yeah. Hopefully, Icegoom might help me out with Mario's GFX. As for ? blocks, I hate them too. I will change them.

The pipe looks fine (almost exactly like SPM pipes). Yoshi is blech and Mario is meh.

Meh, I'm not really up for redoing Mario again. It takes days to draw that many poses. I can maybe do some of the enemy sprites, but I'm kind of swamped right now.

NightKev: If I understand correctly, the Yoshi is a background object and not an actual rideable sprite.

The Yoshies are obviously shopped. They're too big for a sprite that's supposed to be 16x32 I know they're not sprites in that screen, but they still have too many colors


What it would look like in 4-bit color. Note yours is 29x44, and the SMW yoshi is 16x32.

Well, Cirvante, the Yoshis are not going to join Mario as his trusty steed in this game. They are minor characters. Similar to shop owners in PM. Ex: Howzit. They are going to have text bubbles over their heads so Mario can talk to them.

And those Yoshi's were replicated versions of the yoshis from Paper Mario.
