Juuni Kokuki is major win, probably the best anime I've ever seen. So yeah, you should all see it, and stuff.

My favorite anime series of all time is probably Cardcaptor Sakura. Inuyasha and Chobits are cool too, but I'll have to say that CCS is my favorite

A random selection of 10 animes that I like.

Azumanga Daiou

I have nothing to say that Oosaka-san can't say better.
Seriously, if you haven't already seen this, get to it already.

Demashita! Powerpuff Girls Z

The official anime version of the Powerpuff Girls, done Mahou Shoujo style, complete with transformation sequence.

And as an extra, individual transformations.

Akazukin Chacha

This series went on for a whopping 70 episodes before ending, and while the quality dropped when they replaced Dorothy's original voice actress, it's still well worth watching.

Besides, everything I know about stupid Japanese puns, I learned from Akazukin Chacha.

Hell Girl
Hell Girl Futakomori

Hell Girl. 'nuff said.

Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha
Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha A's
Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha StrikerS
(coming soon!)

I declare this to be the greatest Mahou Shoujo anime ever, marginally greater than even Card Captor Sakura.

And I'm not just saying that because it has hammer-wielding lolitas.

D.Gray-man

This show redefines the term 'exorcist' in the greatest way possible.
The main character is voiced by Lucy from Elfen Lied.
It has an evil loli named Road Camelot.
And Abingdon Boys School is hawt )*=

Saiunkoku Monogatari

Hmm.. Saiunkoku literally means "country of the glowing clouds", but it's also the name of the fictional country in which it takes place. This, you see, is why you're not supposed to translate proper names.
So, Saiunkoku Monogatari or Tale of Saiunkoku it is. Basically it's got that whole ancient China thing going on, but instead of China, it's Saiunkoku.

(op)

Princess Tutu

I believe this fan-made music video explains quite elegantly why Princess Tutu is absolutely fucking awesome.

Here is a link to the full-quality version, which is 52 MB.

I really recommend watching it.

Ginga Nagareboshi Gin

Some of you may be familiar with the term Ginga meaning 'Galaxy' in Japanese, but in this 1985 classic, it means 'Silver Fang'.

The concept?
Think Rurouni Kenshin, only ten times cooler, and with dogs.

That's right, I said dogs.

Now, you might think the use of dogs to tell such a badass tale would just make it come off as stupid.
And, there are parts that are stupid.
But, quite frankly, using dogs makes it even more badass, because if the story were told using humans, it would be even stupider.

I mean, seriously. How can you not love this shit?

Ginga Densetsu Weed

20 years after Ginga Nagareboshi Gin comes the story of Gin's son, Weed.
My, how animation has changed

And it's about 20 times as badass as the original. (lol battouga).

And this concludes my post in this thread.

I don't know HOW Eureka Seven got a "win". The whiney nervous kid annoyed me so much I watched PAX to keep my mind from frying. That's how much I hated it.

[tries to keep self from laughing and fails miserably]

Honestly, that would be the reason I shut it off as well. I don't know how Samurai Champloo got a win for so many people as well. The music might have been the only reason to have anything to do with the series, but it chokes on ending the series. I just felt the series was given little point past the music (which was probably the point anyways with -4- albums and the series title itself).

Azumanga Daioh...how could that not be a series that someone wouldn't want to watch? School Rumble, in that regard, is about as insane.

As for ones that people didn't mention, I think Yuu Yuu Hakusho should've been mentioned at least once. Even the English dub (though ugh on Kuwabara) had potential when translated.

Hmm...what else...eh, I'll think up more later.

At least there was an ending. I hate it when it never ends........Wait... let me rephrase that.......I hate it when it doesn't have character development.

Speaking of that, which Anime series, mentioned or not mentioned, has some good character development?

Voices of a Distant Star and The Place Promised In Our Early Day are the two best things to have ever come from Japan since Ikiru.

I would say that the Hokuto no Ken (Fist of the North Star) was my absolute favorite. There is a reason there is still movies and OVA being made 20 years later.

I like swords. Do any of these have a lot of sword action? That's why I like Samurai Champloo so much.
