Jan 23 2007.
But, nonetheless, very, very interesting. And amusing. And true. ____________________ I dealt with it. |

It's pretty insightful, and pretty creative. I noticed the problem with ads (not necessarily electronic ones) in Boston CONSTANTLY. And it contributes to litter as well, as you find flyers and old posters and other things blown away, torn down, or what have you. I understand that advertisement is necessary in order for corporations to run, in order for money to be made, and yadda yadda. But really, there reaches a point where advertisement becomes exces. What defines excess is entirely relative, however. |

Luckily I don't have ANY forms of electronic advertisement in this town. (7k people)
I don't watch TV so I don't get ads there. I only listen to ad free radio. And I don't read magazines. Also internet ads are off thanks to adblock plus and filtering. ____________________ What FF7: Advent Children Character Are You? |

The intelligent web user maybe sees one or two, which are promptly blocked. However, others, due to being stupid or just not knowing about good adblockers, probably see countless numbers. I'd love to see someone try to figure that one out. ____________________ There are things I want to put here. Like a cool picture, my 8-bit theatre character test result, my MS and RO characters... Posted by TheGreatGuyI probably see about 20 or so in a day. I know of plenty of adblockers, but I'm one of those odd people that just doesn't give a fuck as long as there's no sound. |

I love the end of it, where the Graffiti Research Lab and Anti-Advertising Agency... well... advertise for themselves. |

Posted by Thexare BlademoonSame, considering that lots of sites dosen't even break even with their ads (see YTMND). Most annoying ads are however blocked by noscript indirectly so... I don't mind ads. I do mind when they are everywhere and just pollute the landscape. :/ ____________________ AIM: gamefreak1337, MSN: Emil_sim@spray.se, XMPP: ailure@xmpp.kafuka.org

Posted by TheGreatGuy I'm the same as Thexare; I don't really care as long as they're silent and they don't block what I'm trying to do. |

I hate those I-pod ads that greet you with a loud annoying, "Congratulations! You have been selected for a chance to win an I-Pod nano..." or those awful "Hellooooo!?" smiley ads. |

Main reason I installed adblock is some sites take forever to load because of the ads. For instance, it used to take about a minute to load anything on Youtube because of slow-loading ads, not anymore. I don't mind the ads directly(excluding crap like the ipod nano and smiley ads), but when I look down and see that a page is taking forever to load because of an ad, that makes me angry. ____________________ There are things I want to put here. Yknow the difference between billboards with ads printed on them and billboards with ads printed on them and graffiti sprayed overtop of that is that people actually paid money to put the ad up; just to have someone ruin it. It's more or less the equivalent of you buying a brand new Nintendo DS and me writing all over the screen. Of course since you don't pay for the ads you don't see it that way, but whatever. ____________________ |
