Don't you hate it when people spend all their money buying crappy football games? All these games have are a few updated statistics and slightly improved graphics. Seriously, who cares if Madden 2015 comes out!?

Anyways... give these underrated games some recognition.

Ikaruga
-It's an awesome scrolling shooter with gorgeous 3d graphics and a revolutionary light/dark switching system. It's a hard game but it's worth playing.

Klonoa
-It's an excellent platformer with as much charm as Mario games. You get to play as Klonoa and use a suction gun to make your way through numerous puzzle levels.

CarnEvil
-Seriously, why hasn't Midway released this onto consoles yet!? They would make millions more with this gem and from my current understanding, they aren't doing to good at reaping profits. This game is so gorey, it makes Resident Evil look like a game full of sad-faced puppies. Maybe alot of people were too scared to play it or the timing of it's release wasn't so great since it came out roughly after the Columbine shootings.

Dodonpachi:

Easily one of the hardest shooters but definitely one of the best ones that I've seen. Heck, when the objective alongside of beating the game with the highest score comes with another task of getting the highest hit combo, there's a 'yay' there.

Magical Drop III:

Great, great puzzle game that should've been released correctly in English but was taken apart from the Japan MVS system that it originated from. At least I have the capacity to play it as it was.

Twinkle Star Sprites:

You know there was a rumor that Wal-Mart was going to carry the PS2 sequel in stores where no one else was going to. I dunno which Wal-Mart associate that wrote the site thought it funny but La Petite was never released stateside. Still, a good competitive shooting/puzzle game.

Killer Instinct:

Long-dead fighting series of greatness. There were rumors that this series would meet a third installment on the 360 but I've yet to see those rumors confirmed.

StarTropics 1 and 2 (NES) - Somewhat sticky controls and difficult gameplay (especially in StarTropics 1), and lots of cheap deaths in later Chapters.. but still great games that never really got the attention they deserved.

Nightmare Creatures (N64) - I always liked this game. Third-person fighting; lots of monsters and items. The controls could be a bit better (expect to die a lot until you get the hang of it, especially when jumping near water), but it's still a pretty good game. The graphics (for the time) weren't bad either.

Deus Ex - An FPS with a lot of RPG elements to it, and a huge focus on the storyline. Its also pretty open ended, even compared to todays games.

Still to this day, I think it has quite possibly one of the best plots I've ever played through in a game. Its incredible engaging, scary, exciting, and whatnot. The setting of the game is very realistic too, with a few advancements in technology and some ohter stuff.

ThunderForce series - I'm not sure why this series doesn't get as much love as R-Type and Gradius. IV is one of my top favorite sidescrolling shmups of all time. The series has had mindblowing music as well.

That's all I can think of.

Well, mine are all old-ass NES and TG16 games.

Deadly Towers (Seanbaby sucks at challenging games.)

Magic of Scherezade. Just another old NES part-action-part-command RPG, but with an arabic twist. Needs more monster variety though. However, there IS a spell to turn your enemies into little rocketships that blast off and go BOOM.

Willow. Pretty nice action RPG somewhat based on the movie.

The Guardian Legend! Best shooter on the NES, plus it has some zelda-like action between "corridors" and a code to disable that and only do the Shooter stages.

Dungeon Explorer. Nice Turbo-Grafix gauntlet clone that beats the hell outta Gauntlet.

Neutopia. Blatant Zelda-clone for the TG-16 but it does what it does very well.

And I agree with Magical Drop kicking much ass This one time at band camp, I discovered MD2 and it consumed my soul for those 2 weeks.

I would like to point out that they completely ruined the sequel.
I mean, I know 99% of all sequels inherently suck, but it seems like Ion Storm went out of their way to make Invisible War a steaming pile of crap.

And, underrated games..

Kya: Dark Lineage (PS2)
Anyone who likes 3D action-platformers like Jak or I-Ninja should give this a try. Sure, some of the voice acting gets irritating after a while, but it's got beautiful environments, pleasant music, and.. other neat stuff.

I suck at descriptions, I am aware of that.

I look at Invisible War two ways.

1. It was a great game. Short, but fun. One of the earlier FPS's with physics, and that was fun to mess around with.

2. Absolutely fails compared to the original Deus Ex. It even ruined the characters, JC and Alex. It was about half as long as Deus Ex, the cool AI's weren't even there, storyline was decent, it was set too far into the future.

So yeah. I thought it was a fun game, but I haven't played through it 5-10 times like I have Deus Ex.

Touhou games?

Suikoden II is underrated in the sense that it's not widely considered to be the best RPG ever, which it is.

Most of mine have already been taken

Carmageddon 2: I never got around to playing the first and I didn't think the third was so hot, but.... dozens and dozens of different powerups with random and obscene effects, tons of vehicles with completely different feels, gigantic maps with tons of secrets, and a physics engine that was completely ridiculous and just begging to be broken. If Unreal Tournament is my mindless FPS of choice, then this is my mindless racing game (even if no racing actually happened and everyone just smashed each other to pieces instead). It had a bad habit of hiding good maps and vehicles behind stupidly hard missions, but it was still great for a half-hour rush now and then.

You have incredible tastes.

Most epic RPG. Ever.

Though, V is great too. One scene nearly made me cry, because I'm a man. Gameplay wasn't as good as II though, and the constant loading screens kind of hurt, but it was still a great underated gem.

No one ever plays Dark Reign, that cool RTS that like, never got any attention from anyone. It's rejected and orphaned.

To this day I still play it, wrestling with Wnidows XP to make it work, stupid dos compatability BS...I bet Vista will delete it on sight, though, so I guess I should live it up. D:

Suikoden was perfect. The characters extremely well done. You loved the good guys and hated the bad guys. It wasn't pussified in terms of characters not dying. It was not happy.

The perfect ending though, made me weep. Such an amazing game.

So there is someone else on earth that know those games exist. They were great. I've been hoping that Nintendo would remember them and make one for Wii but that will never happen.

Virtual Boy Wario Land - 95% of the world's population probably don't even know what Virtual Boy is. Well anyway this game wasn't only the best game on the system (it only had 22 games...) but I think it's probably the best Wario Land game to date.

e-Reader - Well its not really underrated but the e-reader part of SMA4 was. I got really mad when they canceled the other 6 sets of cards.

Those are all I can think of right now.

Gah, I forgot about the Goonies II.

Also a game that needs the save function.
