8GB of RAM

Windows XP Media Center Edition

If you have any other suggestions feel free to post them

I highly suggest you do your research. I may not like you but I will still help you.

8GB of RAM will ONLY be seen by a 64-bit operating system. such as Windows XP Professional x64 or Windows Vista x64

Dell Dimension 8250

CPU: Pentium 4 2.4 GHz
HDD: 60 GB
RAM: 256 MB
Video card: 64 MB nVidia GeForce 4 MX 420 with TV out
Sound card: Creative SoundBlaster Live!
PSU: 400W factory-standard
Monitor: Standard Dell 15" CRT (yay for 800x600 )
A: 3.5" standard floppy drive
D: Samsung CD-ROM SC-148C
E: Samsung CD-R/RW SW-240B (shot)
Printer: Lexmark X83 MFP

Eh. It gets the job done. But I must admit, 256MB RAM is horrible.

Desktop #1:
HP Pavilion 963 (don't remember the model number exactly since I'm not using that one much anymore)
1.2GHz Celeron Processor
Windows XP
30 GB Hard drive space
128 MB RAM
I bought this one back in 2001.

Laptop:
HP Model ze4427wm
1.8 GHz AMD Athlon Processor
30 GB Hard Drive space
256 MB RAM
Windows XP
I bought this one back in 2003 or 2004 at a "mistake" price. It came with a 3-in-1 printer and was supposed to be $1,000, but I got it for 1/2 that.

Newly Purchased Desktop #2:
Gateway GT5438
Intel Core 2 Duo 1.8GHz
320GB Hard Drive space
2048MB RAM
6 USB Slots
Windows Vista (after using this OS for a whole week now, it has some nice features. However, it's a resource hog. RAM used is almost always sitting between 40 and 50%.)
17" Flat panel HD Display
DVD-R/W & CD-R/W
I bought this one for $900 and came with the monitor and another 3-in-1 printer. It was a good price and so far I haven't had any problems with it. I am so glad that I didn't pay another $200 for the "extra" crap they were going to do to it when I bought it . . .

eMachines T6520, never a problem, and I fuck with it a lot, I've probably installed a new operating system more than 100 time now, and I've had it for 2 year.

Specs I know off the top of my head,

1 GB Ram
200 GB Hard Drive
AMD Athlon 64-bit
6 USB slots
Dual booting Vista and Ubuntu 7.04

I'd like to say eMachines being shit, is a load of crap, it depends on which model you get, if you pay for shit, you're going to get shit, but if you pay a little more, you'll get a nice computer for your money. At least that is what I found.

Meh, I can definitely say that eMachines has improved a lot since their early days. Anyone remember the models a few years back that came with the horrid little white speakers?

I just threw out some broken horrid white speakers, actually. We experienced how tinny they were first-hand, and I still have the original eMachine here.

It's a bit faster now, though.
