Well it is one of the better sites to buy from. But I used it only to show you all detailed information. The majority of my parts were ordered from dropship warehouses for very cheap prices.

The one I have at home is custom built, the laptop I use here is called Acer TravelMate 4152LMi.

- Intel Pentium M 740 processor (2 MB L2 cache, 1,73 GHz, 533 MHz FSB)
- 15,0 XGA TFT LCD
- 60 GB HDD
- 512 MB DDR2
- 802,11 b/g wireless LAN.
- And a left shift key that doesn't work.

These were some stats for the laptop.

I usually use This.
All my computers that are in working condition are Macs. The most noteworthy Mac I have is what I call "The Monstrosity." It has the HD of an old iMac* that died, a Mac mini, the monitor of my old Sandia Labs computer, a slightly broken laptop-like keyboard, and an old Microsoft mouse.
I have a broken PC I made myself. (It broke because it fell off the table...) I also have a broken Sandia Labs computer. (It broke because: 1. It was old. 2. The hundreds of viruses it had didn't help...)
*It was my old friend's computer. It was abused. It slowly died out, but I extracted it's HD and put it in a case. It's now hooked up to my Mac mini.
EDIT: I forgot about my old Amiga. I only use it to play Lemmings, though.

- AMD Athlon XP 2800+
- Asus A8Nsomething mainboard
- ATI Radeon X800 PRO
- Creative SB Audigy sound card
- 17-inch 1280x1024 TFT
- Terratec TV card
- 40+80GB HDD
- Realtec something network adapter
That'd be all I recall of my desktop PC right now... this laptop is a Fujitsu Siemens Amilo A1667G with an Athlon 64 mobile 3200+ (I think) CPU and an ATI Mobility Radeon X700.

I had a HP pavilion with 433Mhz Pentium II from 1998~2006, and now I have another HP (with Intel Celaron) I bought in late 2006.

Before that, I had an old Performa 575 from 1994 to 1998, which I still have at my parents house -.-

[Edit: I used 98 up until my HDD crashed on my P II, then I got a new HDD and put 98SE on it, then I eventually upgraded to 2000 on there. ^.^

And, on this computer, I have XP w/SP2, and I don't want the MS Vista at all >,<]

It really should but Move still doesn't work IIRC. *coughs* Xkeeper.

Ok, I have decided to start a new mATX build. As soon as I am done picking out parts I will post the stats of my next build.

Sony.

Personally, the name on the box is the least important manner in purchasing a computer. My next one will probably be custom.

It's usually kind of important (when buying a pre-built, non custom one).

I say this because, for example, Dells are known to have extreme problems (hi, exploding laptops), eMachines are just known to suck, and so on.

Custom-made, my next one will probably be as well but I don't need one right now. If I upgraded anything on this anytime soon, it would be the HD. 120GB is not enough these days.

Well, I'd consider the three deciding factors to be the components, the price, and the brand. Obviously, these are very inter-related.

Man, I've forgotten all I've done with this Shitpaq. It's definitely not what it was when I started.

Case: Compaq Presario 5000 default casing, bought in 2001
Motherboard: Even though I've looked at it, I couldn't tell you. It's probably just the default motherboard that came with the original 5000 package and I'm not exactly sure on the name of it.
Processor: Intel Pentium 3 @ 1.0GHz, came with model
RAM: 192MB RAM PC-100 (offsetting 128-64; yea, it's bad, but you find PC-100 these days), original strip + 64 strip put in around '05
Video Card: 256MB PCI Radeon Stealth 9250, circa 2007
Sound Card: Onboard...came with it
Power Supply: Default...not sure on wattage but I'm guessing not past 300
Keyboard: Default Shitpaq keyboard (KU-9978)...but it's actually not half bad, came with model
Mouse: Logitech LX5 Invisible Optic Cordless Mouse, circa 2007
Monitor: 17" Dell M782p Monitor, circa 10/02
Speakers: Using boombox, Sony CFS-1035, circa 1995
Hard drive: 60GB Maxtor DiamondMAX 9, circa 2003 (original being 60GB WD that died soon after purchasing this thing)
External drive: 160GB Maxtor External drive, model U01E160, circa 2007
Media:
1) LG 16x DVD-ROM, came with system
2) WriteMaster/MAD-DOG 18x DVD-/+R/W DL triple-format writer (only problem is that with my specs it's extremely limited), circa late 2006

So basically my case is housing some random awesome and some random dated stuff. If I ever get a new system the awesome stuff will likely make its debut on my other system unless otherwise obsoleted.
