Since a few days ago the Bluetooth service has begun stopping and restarting randomly. The "device removed" sound plays, the Bluetooth icon disappears from the system tray, then a few seconds later the "device connected" sound plays and the icon reappears, but lit up as if a Bluetooth device were connected, but when I check the list there aren't any. About an hour ago it stopped and restarted again about 8 times, down for literally a second then up for a second, and it's been down since then.

In the Event Viewer I see event 18 generated by BTHUSB once for each occurrence:

Windows cannot store Bluetooth link keys on the local transceiver because it cannot determine whether proper security is enabled for the device.

Google turns up a few people getting that message at bootup and links to an article on Microsoft.com that says just ignore it. That's not what's happening to me though.

Who might be testing what? That doesn't make any sense.

The Bluetooth service in.......what device (make/model, even)? I don't know if this is an internal card or an outside PC850 hub or anything. Any info on that would kinda help.
