WHERE'S MY FUCKING CHRONO TRIGGER
THIS MAN SPEAKS THE TRUTH
I WANT A GODDAMN REMAKE OF CHRONO TRIGGER, NOT SOME OVERREMAKED FINAL FANTASY GAME/S!

But i'll be content with a translation of Mother3 for now... err, I mean FFII. If, that is, the PSP remake doesnt have an English script.

It's also good for someone that never played FFIV before (like me).

So if you haven't played it, wanted to play it, and own the system this remake will be released for, how come you didn't pick up the GBA remake, which also can be played on this system, when it was released not too long ago?

It's not really going to introduce FF4 to a new market, since the previous edition of the game is readily available and can be played on the exact same system.

They didn't do anything to make it interesting to me. Funny enough though, I don't even have a DS, so I probably won't even play this one. I was just sort of making an example. I mean really this all comes down to the fact the Square will always be able to turn a buck on Final Fantasy games, and they know that, so they're just going to continue to juice it.

I might buy this. I never played the original FFIV, so this may end up being interesting. I heard it was one of the better ones, so we'll see,

On the topic of remakes ... just how many FF3s are there?

There's the Famicom and the DS remake. That's all. There was a canceled Wonderswan port also.

Unless you meant VI, which has three I think; SNES, Playstation, and the GBA. I don't think there was a Wonderswan port of this one :/

Yes, I meant 3/6 too (the one with Kefka .. I suck with the whole Japan-to-America stuff ) Merged together, that's like .. 4-5 remakes. I mean, they're great games, but meh, I see why some people say Square's creativity is shot

I want five things remade.

All of these must be in full 3D or they will fail miserably.

Seiken Densetsu 3
Chrono Trigger
Final Fantasy 6 (Kefka)
Final Fantasy 7
Final Fantasy 9

V should be redone to where they capitalize on multiplayer a bit better and rework that system a little bit. If they don't, then they'd do well to do so with FFIX, since that also had Multiplayer. With job classing on V, however, they'd do well with wi-fi capabilities.

It wouldn't really make it an MMO more than something that people can co-op on. How many times have you seen an FF that does a good job past one player? I can honestly say that K and I pulled a good runthrough in about 24 hours and did everything...even with limited multiplayer control it was fun.

Maybe if they just did that a bit more than this 3D crap... :\

... I smiled.

I guess Square Enix isn't going with this because it isn't well-known, despite being awesome. It's underrated... Like Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time.

Final Fantasy 6 (Kefka)

The opera scene comes to mind.

Actually, FFIII was remixed once on the DS. FFVI was twice on the Playstation and GBA. That makes three remakes, not five--still, the last two weren't remakes as much as product whoring. Nothing new was there save one or two extra random "items." FFIII was what a remake should be. New.

I don't know that I agree with this statement... I mean, CT used to be underrated before emulation was popular, but now it is appreciated quite a bit worldwide depending on who you talk to. There will always be the new-generation who are ignorant to any RPG without "Final Fantasy" as a title, but I think most people have come around to the greatness of Chrono Trigger.

And for the record, I don't think I'd want a remake of it. The fact that I find it perfect as-is without a simple graphics update is part of it, the other part is that it would most likely come out as another of Square's fuckup remakes and tarnish the reputation of the SNES predecessor.

Eh, who knows... Chrono Trigger might be a Virtual Console candidate if they don't value it or think it would be worthwhile.

Now if they decide to release the FF games on VC now... that would just be rubbing it in. Maybe they can focus on Dragon Quest...
