I might play this, just because I enjoy playing only one remake after playing something for the first time. I played the PS version as my first time, so I wouldn't have much of a problem with it. I also want an upgrade to an excuse to play it again.

But... I probably wouldn't play it, anyway.

At least Square [Enix] didn't pull a Street Fightin' Capcom and re-release VII (which wasn't, in my opinion, the best) six times. (SFII, SFII Champ. Edition, SFII Turbo, SSFII, SSFII Turbo, SSFII Turbo HD)

And then name it as "Super Lastly Finally Final Fictitious Fantasy VII-8 v2.5".

[Edit] Oh, right, the GBA one... Yeah, I never really cared for that.

Dissidia, as Niero of Destructoid points out, seems like it may be a melee type game with various characters from different games. Sounds like it could be cool.

SE should spend its money on something else, like making up new material or a new installment to one of their other popular games instead of remaking something as old as this. (And as many times as they've ported it, it isn't as though the current generation hasn't had a chance to play it..)

Needs more screenshots of... well... people who aren't Cecil/Rosa? At least Tellah and Rydia are in the bottom one, for all that you can barely see of them.

Looks alright, I guess. I'd probably pick it up at some point, since I loved FF4.

(And that's one MORE FF remake announced before the supposed FF7 for PS3. Anyone else planning on rubbing this in the face of a nearby FF7-fanboy/girl/etc?)

Not ANOTHER goddamn remake. I mean, they did this on the GBA. A YEAR (or two) AGO. And why does the DS get all the 3D remakes? Err, it's not like you cant plug your FFIV Advance cart into your DS... or your rom. I mean, over-remaking is happening a lot now, like with FF Anniversary Ed. (Awesome if you HAVENT played Final Fantasy, and has graphics that may appeal to the "ZOMG I WNET AWESOEM GRAPHIX!11!!" and the "2D > 3D" types.) and FFII *something* Edition.
To tell the truth, a FFV remake for PSP or DS would be awesome, because FFV is my favourite FF game. Anyway, FF3DS was an almost complete redesign, and a remake that HADNT been done before, but this...

I dunno, I think a 3D remake of FFI would be pretty cool. I actually don't see a problem with this at all. They know people will buy it, so they're making it. It's also good for someone that never played FFIV before (like me). I think ports or small graphical upgrades are TOTALLY lame, the only one I ever liked was FFI for PSX, but that's because I love the original FF. But a total remake is definitely cool in my book.

Last view: 5636 days 		I'd buy any FFIX remake. Best (RPG, not SRPG, Tactics is it's equal) Final Fantasy in years at the time. I still prefer it by far to X and XII. Although I don't know how well the characters would work in 2D, I say use similar models to the FFIII remake. Maybe a bit higher quality, the FFIV remake shows it can be done, although the models they're using are of questionable aesthetics, they're obviously using more power than the FFIII ones do.
