Ooh, gif time:

Yes, that's where it's from. I was a young and stupid kid whose first language wasn't english at the time it was coined, so I had no idea "adamant" was an actual word, let alone that there was a guy out there named Adam Ant.

But yeah, it stuck.

It's my name given to me at birth.

It seemed fitting.

This brings to mind on how few people actually use their names for their aliases in part or whole on the internet(s).
A lot of us are, at a young age, instilled that REAL NAMES ON THE INTERNET IS EVIL!!! by our parents. It tends to stick.

I just don't want people calling me, like I know they would

I was 7 years old and at my mom's working place for an hour.

There were Sun SPARC workstations. They had some really low two-digit number of MHz and that horrible Solaris OS with that horrible CDE.

I went onto the internets a little (no idea what I was doing there). When we were about to leave, something in my childish mind decided it would be an awesome and funny idea and surely make people at the university think they were attacked by a REAL HACKER OMG if I entered a hackerish-sounding nickname into the login name field and left it there, turning the screen off.

Now you need to know my mom works as an astronomer/astrophysicist, so I had a lot of contact with terms from that subject.

I thought "black hole" sounded kind of cool. Spaces weren't exactly popular on the internet back then though.

Just "blackhole" somehow didn't look good. Then, I saw people had numbers at the end of their nicknames. I thought it looked kinda cool.

I typed in "blackhole45". (4 and 5 are next to each other on my keyboard, figures). Yet, I kind of didn't like its look, so I proceeded to append another sequence of numbers.
blackhole89 says Hello World.

About a year from that, I started looking into script kiddie forums on the internets. To place my horrible English post, I needed a nickname.
Being the lazy person I am, I decided to use blackhole89 instead of thinking of something new/better.

It stuck.

Much later, I found out that people appended those numbers to denote their birth dates, and that it usually was a sign of lameness.
That was worsened by the fact I -am- born in '89.

However, having an internet history as "blackhole89", an e-mail adress that a lot of people had, webspace etc. signed up under that nickname, I figured it wouldn't be quite easy to get rid of.

Besides, I was lazy.

Previous... Derived from my favorite cutscene in Armored Core 2. "AC Catastrophie verified... commence attack."

I thought I'd play around with that and become a cat instead. :3

One day, long long ago (about 5 years, actually), I sat in a high school computer lab, dreaming up a creation to call a MSN hotmail address. I was super cool, so naturally I chose a weird name like Dr_Death, but that was yet taken, according to that spiffy MSN dealie. Under suggested alternatives, with crap like Dr_Doofus or what-have-you, was Dr_Death16. So, I became dr_death16@hotmail.com. And I've never changed.

It's epic.

Even though my username is a real name, I got it off one episode of Megas XLR. It was the Thanksgiving Throwdown episode and they made fun of the Mario Bros. along with some other characters. The Mario Bros. were known as the Fabio Bros. in that episode.

After that episode, the username became stuck as soon as I used it as a nickname when I first got the DS a few weeks later.

I hate putting numbers in my aliases, but sometimes it is required. It sucks. Numbers in your alias just make it seem, BLAGH and AOLish. :/

I just randomly threw two words together.
But for my other nickname ("Jamosup" used on my very first account that I spammed on because i was an idiot)I took my name (James), then turned it into "Jamo". Eventually, I added "sup" because I felt like it. I was like 7-8 at the time.

Yes, my old email address had my year of birth at the end. The first part of it was so lame that I never want to see it again.

Started out as Chill Penguin back whenever I first started on the boards. Had nothing better to put.

Switched to Ice Ranger for a few reasons. Started doing hacking using the F2 freezing button in FCEUXDSP. Also, I wanted to keep some reference to the old name. The ranger part comes from Super Mario RPG for the Shy Guy that will always run away unless you have Geno equiped with a feather to increase the speed above that of the Shy Ranger. Also, at that time, I was hacking SMB2 a lot and was enjoying the concept of the Shy Guys, combined all three together and there's a bluish-looking shy guy for an avatar.

It's an enemy in Deadly Towers, one of my 4 first NES games, which I did beat without a guide. One of these days I'll quit being lazy and construct a DT layout.. not today.

This screen name? Random rename of Red XIII from FF7. I hate this name, but... well, read ahead.

My other screen name is "Xtmk" which I came up with by throwing random letters at the end of X, inspired by Acmlm. On a side note, this is my main screen name, but I do not use it here because it falls even closer to Xk's name than this one does(and my current name is close enough where I have been mistaken for Xk on two occasions or so now). So, a new name is actually in order soon.

My hotmail address is Tanks404. I knew about the page not found error but that's not it. I remember Strong Bad once saying it so I thought "what the heck, 404 it is."
