Now, I can understand the humor in a fake mouse. But if that was real? I don't think I would quite enjoy being on the computer.

It's got a cord. I'd only use it if it was wireless (tailless?).

I hate wireless mouses.

They're way too unreliable...

I agree. Most wireless things can be unreliable. I´ve had my experience with wireless stuff.

And that kind of mouse looks disgusting.

My first apartment had pretty bad wireless Internet. I thought it was good at first as the only Internet I had had before then was dialup, but I quickly got fed up with the wireless going down constantly for minutes at a time and only working in a few select areas of the apartment.

That's made of lol. Also, I agree on the wireless thing: other than Nintendo's products, wireless tends to be a pain and shouldn't be used when not necessary. Wireless mice won't work in my room at all, we had to buy expensive new cordless phones to not fuck up our wireless router, etc...

Though, I have a problem with mice. They're either wireless and thus unreliable, shit and weak-corded, or cost ludicrous amounts.

Couldn't be happier with my Logitech Wireless Lazer optic mouse.
Just couldn't stand those wires interfering anymore.

Long range. Check.
Usable on most surfaces. Check.
Long battery life. Check
Good Signal. Check.

My room is pretty much all wireless stuff.

Barely have any problems.

As for the topic, I would never have such a mouse. I mean, no, just no.

Meh, I use a regular mouse (non-wireless and non-optical)...

And how can someone make a computer mouse out of a real mouse? That's just plain weird...

I have an optical mouse but it's like 5 years old and sometimes acts a bit weird. Nothing compared to ball mice though, with all the food I eat at the computer those would clog up every damn week, making computing a real pain, especially mouse-intensive stuff like strategy videogames.

I use a normal mouse too. Every optical mouse I've tried seems to "drag" along the mouse pad, making the mosue move very slow. I don't often have problems with the ball getting clogged, and they're usually very easy to fix, and never happen to occur when it's important. I eat by my computer too, I guess I'm just really neat. As far as wireless, the wireless network that we have set up works like a charm, it goes down to the Wii(basement) and up to my PC(second floor) from the family PC(ground floor) with no problems I know of. A wireless mouse, however, just seems like a waste of money to me, and they probably only come with optical anyway. If the wire ones work fine, why pay extra?

I've got a Logitech Cordless LX5 Invisible Optical Mouse that I got about a month or two ago. Rocks ass but it only has so much range that it can take away from the antenna (about 10 foot).

And that's just wrong...but I'd know too many people that would buy something like that.

EDIT: Well, after doing some research with my esteemed co-workers at RadioShack, we came across the actual site for it here.

Hilarious.

TheGreatGuy, you can turn up the speed in the control panel of any decent OS. And Ranko, you might try this for your link. As for Radio Shack (or Circuit City as they now call them here), I've noticed the employees aren't always that smart. I ask if they have a given product, they claim it doesn't even exist, I find it at Zellers or Future Shop.

I just remembered the other problem I have with cheap mice: they're inaccurate, and tend to bounce around a little as I move them, or sometimes even shake while perfectly still. So it seems my choices are:
-A mouse with no precision
-A mouse whose cord will break within a few weeks
-A wireless mouse that won't work in my room
-A mouse that costs $120
All no good IMO, but I'll probably end up going for the last option when I finally save up for all the other computer-related junk I want.

One thing I like to do though is keep MouseKeys on in Windows. This lets me use the numeric pad to move the mouse with pixel-perfect accuracy. It's very useful. You can turn it off too by just turning Num Lock on.

Well, I can vouch that Office Depot and RS have the smartest people in Benton working for them. I'm one of them.

Sides, I was laughing too hard to really care about HTML at that point.
