This is probably one of the most revolutionary ideas ever. Wireless electricity! I've always had thoughts about this like "How could one transmit energy over a distance to power things like cars or laptops?". Well now it seems possible. Though this may be an idea for the distant future, I can still see how revolutionary it might be!

This isn't "wireless" so much as "being plugged directly into a wall".

I'm doubtful if we'll ever see wireless power.

Yeah, but the sheer amount of power to travel through air is rediculous. Try looking it up some time.

And it's harder to receive, store and use electricity when it comes in heavy spurts...

We also use static electricity (which just happens to be what lightning is) to shock each other, so we use it every day lready =P

Damn, Waldo beat me to it. Anyway, interesting development in short-range power transmission (think within the home), but until they can either bill us for it or put really annoying ads in it somehow, long-range transmission (think electric cars, no-battery cell phones) won't happen. The companies running the world are already choosing to not stop destroying it because that would reduce their profit margins.

They probably mean Nikola Tesla. The inventor of all kinds of stuff.

/me has known that for a while but continued to use it as a way of subtly reminding Xk that it's broken.
