I actually started playing OoT when I was 8-9, I think, but I just beat it this year. I don't even want to go for Master Quest, the thought of getting through the Water Temple again turns me away.

Am I the only one who finds the Water Temple in OOT to be incredibly easy?

I have more trouble with the rotating staircase in TP than ANY of the puzzles in OOT.

And also, am I the only one who, when playing on OOT's forest temple, upon entering the outside section, is utterly captivated by the combination of the sky and the music, and just stays there looking at the sky without realising?

Oh, just me then? Alright.

The whole time limit thing gave you a sense of rush. It's like they though "You've spent your time adventuring slowly in Hyrule, but now we put you up to the task of beating this one as fast as possible!" It's kinda' like your own personal speed run.

"Video-gaming is like fine-dining at a restaurant -- you want to sit back and enjoy your meal, not finishing it as fast as possible."

I believe that this is true. Some games are suited for rushing, but there are other games where you want to take your time and enjoy it. It shouldn't be too long, because, if it is, it'll lose its novelty (the meal becoming bland/rotten).

Meh. That's my opinion.

I thought the time limit just ruined it. One of the nice things about adventure games is exploring, collecting, not necessarily doing what you need to do next just yet, and doing it at whatever pace you want when you do. A time limit pretty much eliminates these options, especially since you lose all the nice things you collected when you go back.
Did you know that you can slow down time with a song?

The time limit hardly disturbed me on Majoras mask. It only became problem once for me, and mostly due to poor planning from my part.

yeah, that's why it was cool.

Honestly, every became fine as soon as you figured out the "inverted song of time" and "song of double time" or whatever they were called.

As for rushing through a game, I tend to do it slow first, then I do a speedrun. always.

How far in did you have to be to get those songs? I never actually owned the game, so I didn't get very far.

you get them as soon you get the ocarina. you don't need to learn them in any place.
Hovever, a scarecrow tells you about them in a store

Ahaha, I knew it. xD

Most people who complains about the time limit either hadn't owned the game, or hadn't played much of it.

And yeah, the scarecrow tells you about it. Fun thing when you slow time down, monsters and most other stuff still runs as fast but things that are time-based. XD Some people start walking really slowly.

Looking back, I am amazed at how young I was when I first played OOT. 15 now, -9 years = 6 years old. Blame my cousins for passing their NES and 50 some games down to me when they got the SNES, I was like 3 at the time. So I played the Zeldas in order(The console ones anyway, portables, not so much) and I really like OOT, coming back to master quest, I still love the game. I vastly prefer Majora's Mask though. Mainly because of the racial masks. I always thought it'd be cool to play as a Zora, or a Deku,(Goron, not so much) and now, look, I can! I never had much time trouble except with sideequests that require perfect timing.(I'm looking at you keaton mask quest!) And why do you hate Shadow Link? He was my favorite mini boss! I know the idea is a bit cliche, but I loved fighting another Link in Zelda II and I loved it in OOT. Very fun fights.

Yeah, it's hilarious just how many people I know complain about the time limit on MM, and then I say 'you DO know theres a song to slow down time, dont you?'

And they're just like...um, no?

I mean seriously, I've never ran out of time after using the Reversed song of Time. After using that, the time limit is something like 3 hours, which is more than enough to finish a dungeon. And using the combination of the Song of Time, the Reversed Song of Time and the Song of Double Time to essentially control time however you please, you start to work out just how amazingly well designed Majora's Mask is.

I need to find a new N64 controller.

My controllers didn't get any mario party action, but they got plenty of FPS action =D

But MM wasn't that bad even without the time songs. Once you got a dungeon's item, you just had to go back in time, and finish it.

As for OOT (never talked much about it), when I played it on console (in other words no cheats and stuff), I thought it was incredibly easy. To this day, I still think the Water Temple is boring.

Oh and as Xeo said, Link's Awakening is really underrated. Maybe it's because it was my first Zelda game (and almost first video game), but I thought it was awesome. I mean, no "save princess gogogo" was great =D

Well, agreeing(sp?) with a few people here; Link to the past is the, and the only, origional Zelda game, and is still one the very best.

TP is better then OOT, but the thing is, I have already beaten it, and it sorta got boring, so now I'm playing the origional 3-D LOZ.

I have yet to play Majora's Mask, and I am not in a position to get it. However, I am severely looking forward to it, and I have high expectations.

While not the best, OOT is still very fun. Also, I am atempting to obtain the Mask of truth, but I am having major problems finding the running guy in Hyrule feild. Could someone tell me a good place to find him? I mean, I know it's relitively random, but I wouldn't mind a tip.

EDIT: Whoops! Scratch that. After scouring Game FAQ's, Iv'e descoved that I can't encounter the running man yet. Heh heh...

It's not random at all, really - he follows a set route around Lon Lon Ranch, and starts appearing... after you get the Ocarina of Time, I believe. It's before you go to the future, at least, since some carts have a glitch where you can't get the deku nut upgrade that requires the mask of truth if you've already been to the future. It's a worthless upgrade, sure, but if you're a completist, it's annoying to miss it because of a glitch like this.

Most people who complains about the time limit either hadn't owned the game, or hadn't played much of it.

If you had said "All people", then that'd be a bad stereotype.

I've gotten almost everything, except only ONE Heart Piece (I got all the masks and people in the notebook). I always got annoyed by having to deposit rupees if I wanted to save them when I go back in time. Getting fairies or potions was a true pain in the ass, should I have to go back in time yet again.

And yes, I used the Song of Inverted Time.

Majora's Mask had a great story. The only thing that sort of threw me off was the time restraint.

Oh, and I had one hell of a time with the Anju & Kafei (which, when I was smaller, I would pronounce as "kee-fee". Don't ask why) sidequest. Especially when I went too fast on entering the hideout. I rolled through the crack on the side of the huge-ass boulder, got in, and was stuck inside.
