What's a "life"? Like a 1-UP in videogames, right? |

More like a loss of a videogame life, I'd say. ____________________ I dealt with it. |

Silly of me to think aging was a continuous sort of thing. |

Well, I now feel that ACS is needless. We don't need anything that may cause people to do postcount++. ;P |

Am I the only one that doesn't view postcount++ as necessarily bad? |

Posting is fun for me, but I also like seeing numbers increase for some reason. The most important thing though is that we're a community and have discussions and conversation on the board. I just get pissed off at people who are like "POST COUNT SUCKS LET'S ABOLISH IT" just because they themselves don't care about it.
Then again, threads that are only to increase post count are pretty boring. Like word associations and such. |

I think I'm going to have to agree there, I only care about post count milestones myself, and not post count in general. |

Posted by Katelyn So it's only the large accumulations of postcount++ that matter? |

I don't care about post count that much, I just like to throw in a random word wherever I go. |

For me it depends on the content.
If you do nothing but treat a thread as an IM conversation (back and forth one-line posts, see also most of Brain Teasers with rapidfire one-person-guessing-all-the-time)... that's bad. If you use your posts to help a thread, that's good. Under these rules, even short posts are fine:
But even then, this is better:

If one can help a thread, can one hurt or kill a thread? Is it unethical to harm threads? |

Yes, because harming one's thread may harm the individual. |

Kind of how hurting someone's shirt will hurt the person? |

Ahh...But, what kind specifically? Are you punching it? Irradiating it? Setting it ablaze? Pushing it into an oil pool (...Why the fuck is that even there?) and THEN setting it ablaze? Stabbing? S-*Shot*
But, yea. |

Some types of damage are null for the shirt, such as Blunt, which just shoves it around. Other types, like Pierce, do some near pernament damage.
Get what I'm saying? Check the damage type first, then check to see how it will affect said object. |
