Hey, 2D Zelda games are über-awesome. I'm not too familiar with Final Fantasy though. To tell you the truth, I had never even heard of Final Fantasy until I started posting at Acmlm's!

I have too many games that I haven't played thoroughly. And still some that I haven't played at all...
Final Fantasy isn't exactly high on my list, due to infrequency, but the currently active game for me is #0432: Tactics Ogre - The Knight of Lodis, which took too damn long to find.

A lot of times I start a game, lose interest, stop playing it, start over a few months later, get slightly farther than the first time, lose interest again, stop again, lather, rinse, and repeat. So there are games that I haven't beaten, but I know the beginning of the game REALLY well.

It took me about two years to beat Yoshi's Island on Super Nintendo, but it took me less than a month on GBA xd

It only took me FIVE DAYS to beat New Super Mario Bros. for DS. I wonder how easy Yoshi's Island DS is

Yoshi's Island DS isn't exactly hard, but there's a bunch of spots that are like the song that gets on everybody's nerves in visual. The last "secret" level (The end-game level, not the unlock one) made me repeat at least 20 times.

Just like my non-saving sprees. I keep dying, but as you said, I know the beginning of the dungeon/area really well.

This also happened a lot when I used to hack SMW. I didn't stop at that time, but I did keep replaying the level (well, that's a pretty common thing). Also (again), this happened when I was speed-running SMW. I would constantly die/get hurt in Yoshi's Island 2 and the Star World levels so much that I'd remember every hazard, but I wouldn't use that to my advantage.

Some of the levels in Yoshi Island DS are unforgivable. You'll see what I mean if you make it to World 5. The first level of that world featured a bunch of jumping Chomps coming from all directions and the worst part of it was that level was an auto-scroll level.

Also, don't even bother trying to get a perfect score on all the levels. It's too frustrating to do without items because you don't have those +20 star items to help you.

One of my worst levels was Secret 1. I got a 49 on it the first time through and never did retry. Scrolling lava is worse than scrolling screens.

Damn, no 20 stars?

I want Yoshi's Island DS...I've played the SNES/GBA one, and I often get all the flowers and coins but lose a few stars near the end, so I get only like 97 points in a level.

It's a tie between 5-1, 5-5, and Secret 2. I'm going to go with 5-5 for these reasons:

1. It's a ripoff of 6-5 from the original Yoshi's Island which was called "The Very Loooooong Cave". I hated 6-5 a lot from the original one and I hate this one even more.
2. Auto-scrolling.
3. Those damn Chomps from 5-1 are in here too.
4. A lot of Skeleton Goonies drop a bunch of torpedoes on you. There's very little room to avoid them because most of the level either had lava or a bottomless pit.
5. The first wind section of the level was annoying. First, you didn't even know if it was there if you are playing this for the first time. I usually use Baby Mario a lot so I didn't know about the wind section when I first played it until it was too late.
6. There is less enemy generators in this level than in the original game. What makes this worse is that you needed the eggs in Yoshi Island DS. In Yoshi's Island, I had 6 eggs throughout most of the level because you rarely needed it.
7. It's much longer than 6-5.

I'm going to stop there.

Fun-fact: That's not even half of the level. There's more things I could add but 7 is enough.

I scored a 52 the first time. I do not have the patience to get a better score.

I lost 5 lives in a row on the automatic spinning platforms first time through, which was annoying. 5 days after I beat the game, I went back to get 800p and died on the lava at the start. You believe that?
Also, there should've been a better museum than there was. It was too boring.

This is why I like the re-recording emulators, which use shift-X for saving, and just X for loading, where X is F1-F10

It's a lot easier than just one savestate...

Of course, with those I tend to forget whether "shift + key" means save or load. I have F5 and F7 ingrained in my memory from King's Quest and the like, and I was really thrown off by one emulator I used where SAVE is F7.

yeah, it'd be nice if emulators had standardized hotkeys

Gens having tab as reset is dumb.

Well, Spring Break is after this upcoming week, and supposedly Friday is "senior skip day" but I'm going to school anyway probably. I know I'm going to be a lazy fuck in Web/Digital Design, so I could use that day to work on stuff in there. Every other class I wouldn't do anything, but quite frankly, what is new about that?

Tomorrow, since I can't drink (nor would I), I'm going to celebrate by playing Pump It Up from 10 o'clock to about 5 or after that. That ought to be fun.
Yet I have to ride in with my mom to her work, and she needs to be there at 8:30. I don't care. I get to play Pump, I'm happy about that.

Although the time before that I get to work on sims more. Should try to get Destiny finished on my part.

And I need some new DS games...

Yay senior ditch day!

Ours is going to be some Friday next month. The freshmen, sophomores, and juniors have standardized testing on Wednesday and Thursday of one of the weeks, so seniors don't have to come in. We figure we shouldn't bother coming in on that Friday after being off Wednesday and Thursday.

For St. Patty's Day tomorrow, we'll be having a party since there's a lot of Irish in my blood, and my stepdad is 100% Irish (he moved here about 25 years ago).
We're going to a party hosted by a 100% Irish friend. We haven't been out to his place in a while, I can't remember the last time I partied on St. Patty's, and he wants to show off his 60" TV/Wii setup. Win.

Man, I want to have senior ditch days but that won't happen until next year.

On my senior year, I probably will do it when standardized tests start because seniors at our school don't take it unless they didn't pass it as a junior where it really counts. Our English test is the only one that takes the entire day so there is no way I'm going to spend all day being stuck in the gym.

I never saw the point of senior skip day (as they called it at my high school). Maybe it was the fact that I was taking college courses with my high school courses and would've still had to go to those no matter if I skipped class or not

But yeah, I was one of few seniors who actually went to class that day.
