Fusk!!!

So a few months ago my hubby and I started to plan a little vacation. Orginally we were going to go up to Orlando. Then his brother mentioned how they go to Cedar Point every year in May. After figuring out a few things, we got tickets to go to VA to meet up with my bother-in-law and the nephews and then we were to drive to Ohio. Never been to Ohio, let alone Cedar Point.

We already have the air tickets (free due to airline miles) and I put in for vacation time at work.

Five minutes ago I get a call. Chris' uncle's daughter's graduation is the same weekend we were planning on going on our vacation. Instead of telling us this in advance, and now the whole trip is in the gutter. We're to give the plane tickets to Chris' mom and grandmother and from the looks of it, Chris, his father and I will be driving up to Philly. Way to save gas, heh. So everyone is mad at said uncle for springing this up on us so late.

I knew it was too good to be true.

Wow, that really is a bummer there, especially when considering how much money essentially got wasted in the process. Can you retract your vacation time, or is it set in stone? That really sucks if that's the only vacation time you can have per year or something.

Do you have any plans to try again at some future time?

I have to use it to go to Philly now, I mean, I can't say to the family that I can't go, even though they know that I had already planned it off. Hell, hopefully it won't take a whole week and the hubby and I can at least hit Orlando for two days.

I was planning on taking May 25 until June 2nd off, so maybe something can be worked out. But I think Cedar Point is out of the question...buuut...if the graduation is that weekend, and we were planning on going to Cedar Point on the Monday after Memorial Day....this could work..I should bring that up tonight when I see the hubby.

Had the a similar issue with going up in January to Illinois. My car fell out on me and drained me of expenses so I put it off to April.

I took it, but my vehicle failed again (clutch) so now I'm paying back for it in spades.

...Erm, why couldn't you say "we'd like to go, but we already had plans booked"?

Seriously, say you were heading to Europe or Mexico. Would you drop all the plans for that?

And this is where I would say "Screw you, I'm going on my vacation. Next time, tell us earlier than a week when everyone's already made plans."

You see, I would do that, its the bother-in-law who is thinking of changing the plans. But his sons haven't been to Cedar Point either, so maybe that'll work in our favor.

And its not Philly, but in Maryland where the graduation is.

So if anything, we can go up to Maryland for the weekend, then head to Ohio by Tuesday, as originally planned.

But we'll see.

Look on the bright side, road trips can be fun. And from what I hear, Cedar Point is a bundle of joy.

Yes Cedar Point is awesome. I live in Ohio. We go to Cedar Point at least 1 day every summer and stay from open to close. I you are able to still go, just remember, it is Ohio, and in the middle of Lake Eerie at that. So be prepared for ANY type of weather, especially rain, and this time of year at least, cold. Depending on when you go, its either extremely cold or extremely hot. I went one time in late may and it was rainy and 50 degrees all day but we still had a blast. And if you ride Millennium Force, you MUST ride front seat. Its almost a waste if you don't. And no matter how long the line is, it is so worth it. Hope you can get everything worked out.

Why bother with the graduation? It's just fucking graduation. I say stick with your original plans.

If you do go to Cedar Point, I might be able to meet you there. Also, go on the Millenium Force and the Raptor at least once each.

From what I understand now, is that we're going to fly up to VA on Saturday (the 26th), drive up to Maryland on Sunday (27th) and either from there drive to Ohio, or head back to VA and then drive back to Ohio. So on Monday (28th) we'll check into a hotel and then head to Cedar Point on Tuesday (29th) and stay there from open to close.

Oookay..so its all on..we're going to have to drive up to Maryland to visit the family, but we're still going to Cedar Point.

Its starting to work out for the better. We have a long lay over in Dallas, and my hubby knows two people from high school that live there, so we might have lunch.

Plus, while in Ohio, my old friend from high school lives 45 minutes away, so this trip is looking better and better.

A little copy and paste, because I am lazy.

Alright, from what I know is that we have a long lay overs going to and from DC. I think we spend about 4 hours in Dallas. But anyway, we leave on Saturday in the morning and we won't fly into DC until the evening. Then we head to the brother-in-law's house in VA. We then drive to Maryland to visit family and then we go back to VA to sleep. Monday we drive from VA to Ohio and spend the night. Tuesday is all Cedar Point and then we're staying in the hotel Tuesday night and leave on Wednesday to go back to VA and then we fly back home on Thursday (with more lay overs!!)

We're going to be staying at Hotel Breakers at
One Cedar Point Drive
Sandusky, Ohio 44870
