It's funny, but apparently there are indications that human beings are supposed to have a nap in the mid afternoon.

I can certainly believe that, I've wanted to take a bit of a Nanna Nap around 3pm lately.

Course, this would be bad and wrong also... but it is good when I get to do it

As for myself, I was left to my own devices at a young age, as long as I was quiet. Experience tells that going to bed at 4AM isn't such a great idea in practice though, especially when it's necessary to wake a few hours later.

I do that regularly on Saturday nights/Sunday mornings. I go to bed at 4AM and get up at 8:30AM for Church...

I've read studies evincing that 5.5 hours is adequate, sufficient, and by all means "enough" rest, but that most people prefer 8 anyways.

I'm assuming this is for adults?

I sleep through the morning with pride.

Mwa ha ha ha haaaaa!

Seriously, though, my sleep patterns are weird. I become more energetic around 8 PM to 8 AM, then 8-11 makes me want to sleep, so I sleep through it, then I get up, enjoy the afternoon (and I don't get tired then either), then late after noon I want to sleep but don't, wake up more late at night, yadda yadda.

Apparently, what constitutes a "normal" sleep schedule is one of the last things parents and their children disagree on before said children move out, because I had the same issues with my mom. I can't count the number of times I found myself frantically shutting down the computer and jumping into bed because I heard footsteps coming down the stairs in the morning.

(and heaven forbid they should catch me going to the bathroom in the middle of the night, because that automatically meant I was still awake...)
Oh god, did we have same parents or something?

Of course, mine doesn't care anymore when I'm at home and is awake all night. But they used to care. XD

Ehm, my biological cycle is fucked up. At least I somehow manage to fit it together with my schedule.

fuck yes.

That's sort of why they're starting to think that a 20 minute powernap could actually be something we're supposed to do.

I just wish it was something I was allowed to go do

My dad was the same way... it's annoying. Made me shut the computer off at midnight every night and if I wasn't up by 10, he'd be sure to throw things at my door or something like that to wake me up.

Throw things at your door? It's called an alarm clock.

I'm no better because I only woke up 30 minutes ago but come on... it's not like I pass out at work or anything like that. (God, I've wanted to...)

Ugh, I hate sleeping for 12 or more hours at a stretch. I like getting a decent amount of sleep so that I'm rested, but I don't like wasting time basically doing nothing when I could find so many other ways to waste time instead.

And I did like what Tarale suggested.

Went to sleep at 15:00 then woke up around now. Wee.

Wait... have you ever even asked her why she gives a living fuck about when you sleep?

I think it's more abnormal that she cares. Since when is what time a person sleeps so absurdly important?

That's not weird at all. At least for me, that is.

I usually sleep from 11:00PM to 6:50AM (school days) or 7:20-40AM (weekend/days off).

And my dad usually goes to bed around 8-9PM, even earlier than what you said.
