Aren't you worried about a power surge possibly wiping your hard drive? Maybe I worry a bit more than I should (Paranoia is me) but I'm too afraid that my hard drive will die during a thunderstorm to keep my computer on.

I don't. I have protection against that.

So i'm no longer afraid about keeping my computer on during thunder storms.

Of course, blackouts will still affect me. :p

I live in the flatlands, and I'm still not worried about it.
I just like the thunder.

I have a surge protector, but I've always been uneasy about using the Internet during a storm after the time my dad fried the modem when he was online at 03:00 during a thunderstorm.

Yeah, um. That's the opposite of what we've got. It's now probably up in the upper 70's to lower 80's outside. It's supposed to be 69 inside... But I opened my window, warming up my room to about 75 or so.

I like the smell of outdoors. I'm just too lazy to go outside, though.

The only thing that makes me a bit worried about a thunderstorm is the power going out, causing me to have no TV, computer, etc. I have no worries about getting my hard drive wiped.

<!--stupid center and width hack-->
It's been raining here fairly consistently for about three days, and on Friday we did have a small thunderstorm.

Mostly though it's just been raining very heavily.

I'm not worried about power surges and such, I believe I have a surge arrester. One day I wouldn't mind a UPS though too.

Power surges. My family have lost 2 something modems and a few network cards, I think. But not more than that. Last time we had a really bad thunderstorm, we had forgotten to pull out the modem but not anything else.

I don't have a problem with power surges unless I'm working on something.

Other than that, I prefer Thunder Storms.

Um. Yeah, lightning tends to be... Well, bright.

We need more rain. It hasn't rained [often] in awhile.

I love a nice thunderstorm at night. Unless the thunderclaps are really loud and really close, I find the rumblings to be pleasant. And I LOVE the sound of rain on the roof. It's soothing and usually helps me sleep.

I don't turn the computer off during a thunderstorm. Seriously, there's not a lot of danger if you're not connected to a phone jack for dial up. I HAVE had a motherboard fry before, but that came through the phone line, which is MUCH more likely to happen than anything major coming on the electric lines and improbably making it past your breaker box.

We haven't had a lot of rain in a while. Which is bad. When we have a dry spring, hurricane season is usually pretty bad for that year.

To all you people who love rain: Move to Western Washington. Nice big green trees, smell of nature and a metric assload of rain.

I used to live there!...

I miss it...

It rained pretty bad on Monday and Tuesday last week at where I live. There were also tornadoes to go with it but luckily none of them were near my house.

I got to enjoy the smell of the rain on Monday which is awesome. On Tuesday however, it started raining hard the moment I started leaving the drive-through. It stopped raining hard the moment I got out of the car. I don't like the rain that much when I'm driving.

Lighting storms and the sound of rain on a tin roof are both awesome things I don't get to experience often enough.

I like the rain. Sounds nice, and floods my school's basement. (Free periods, anybody? )
