Hello, everybody.
This post was written in Microsoft word 2 002. Did I say “ written “? I meant said.
This post was created using the voice to text feature in Microsoft word 2 002.
Discuss.

Yeah, but you're not handicapped. That's taking advantage of the--whatever. Voice-to-text or vice-versa is awesome.

If only I had a microphone...

I also feel this way. Voice to text > Text to voice. I probably wouldn't use it much, but it'd be cool to have.

Microsoft Word 2002. I think I just installed that. I´m gonna try this voice-to-text thing sometime.

Oh God, this brings back the memory of my dad showing me his voice to text program...he kept trying to say "ass" and it just wouldn't type ass for him...so he said ass over and over.

I was a little kid and the way he was saying ass...I couldn't stop laughing...

Some of the words it was printing were so far from ass that it only made the hernia I had from laughing that much worse...

No way man. Text to Voice is way better... okay fine, Voice to Text is much cooler, but Text to Voice is still cool.

That's borderline tongue twister.

voice to text + text to voice = eternal loop of destruction

(actually, it'll just keep overlapping itself...)

Text to voice screws some stuff up, eventually it'd be like you put the string through babelfish a good few times.

He's right:

You say something >> Presented to text >> Voice messes up words >> Messed up voice converts to messed up text >> Voice repeats the messed up text even messier >> the pattern goes on and on.

Like... You say "Hello World" (bad example since it's easier to repeat)

It will most likely transform into something like "Ho road" xD

EDIT: One question though... How does this feature handle things like "to", "two", "too", or "2". Or "they're", "their", or "there". Or even capital letters. Or printing "," instead of "comma" or " " instead of "space"/"blank" whatever.

Sounds complex to me.

WTF, you actually got a speech-to-text program to not create total gibberish?

Let's say you don't feel like typing that 2000 word essay on transcendentalism... instead, we can just recite what we want to the voice-to-text feature.

If I could only find a copy of that...

I have a scanner. Someone should revive the handwriting thread.

Ah, I tried a voice to text program years ago. It wasn't very good... it was kind of slow. It definitely wasn't very fast; I think I can get my message out faster by typing than using a voice to text program. I also couldn't type out smilies or things that aren't really words without having to do it letter by letter, which gets to be annoying after a while. =P
