In Mario Party, I came up with the perfect way to avoid blisters on my palms...

Make a fist, grip the control stick with your pinky, and rotate... kinda like another certain grip if you catch my drift.

I've had a few cases of Metroid Thumb, particularly from Fusion, but nothing compares to emulating Mario64 back before I got an analog gamepad.

My thumb was seriously sore for a month.

I used to get very bad headaches from playing games all day long, but I grew immune to that as I got older. :p

I don´t remember if I´ve ever had any inuries from playing games. I remember that one of my friends had a so-called Nintendo Thumb. They were bent upwards more than regular thumbs.

The usual sore hands/blisters on old NES games.

No idea why that happened but it would be annoying yet so satisfying at the same time.

The first time I had ever played a King of Fighters game.

It was King of Fighters '99 on the playstation and I got such crazy blisters on my thumbs(never happened to me ever before) that I had to dip them in ice. But that's it.

NES: I got pissed one time and flung the controller. The first time, it put a small dent in the wall (Damn those things are hard), a second time, I bruised myself in the back.

PC: I played without a mousepad a few times and now I have this permanent blemish on my wrist from rubbing it on the desk so many times. I also got knuckle pain from playing counter-strike for over 8 hours straight. I told my friends that my knuckles were starting to hurt and one of them said, "K. I guess he cannot hang, probably mad because I schooled his ass. You're a bitch Dane, get some Ice on dat shit! Haha!"

Aside from everything mentioned about Mario Party... hm...

In certain situations I get my fingers slightly pinched from the XBox's R and L triggers. Not too major though.

Other than that, my hands are starting to scar from regular DS handling. (Damn corners...)

I don't really have much trouble with the Wii. Nothing's gone anywhere near flying yet. Although the bowling robot that's on wiihaveaproblem now is cool.

As of right now, my right wrist is a bit stiff and I can see a few bruises from playing too much of Guitar Hero II.

I had my left leg under my right (V-shaped, for some arm support) for about 30 minutes or so. I get up to go to my computer, and fall.

Like anyone who has played Mario Party 1, my left or right hand got destroyed from rotato-la-controlato via me arm-o.

Snaking in Mario Kart DS. I wasn't hurt, but after snaking non-stop on Figure-8 Circuit, my thumb gets tired.

I was playing F-Zero X while sitting on my old computer chair. I was doing a lot of backwards-tilting. I passed the line of balance, and fell backwards, right onto my desk. I wasn't injured, by my desk sure was.

Going crazy on hadokens in Street Fighter II/Super Street Fighter II on the newer SNES controller with a rougher d-pad made my thumb very, very sensitive.

I don't know if this counts as an injury, but charging up the Plasma ability in Kirby Super Star put a permanent callous on my left thumb. Also, both of my thumbs make a strange clicky sound when I bend them, a symptom of years of video gaming.

Well, I'm not sure about any injuries yet, but my DS is starting to maybe my palm vulnerable to pain. Starting to.

I did the palm thing for MP1, but it didn't do much damage. Probably has to do with my immulity to certain types of self-inflicted damage.

I never had a problem with a SNES controller.

The NES controller, while pokey, didn't bother me hardly. At least, I don't think...

The Wii isn't a problem, probably because it's nonexistant here. I think I might cheat referrals, but that would require 14 accounts...

Not much.... Nes, Gba, Snes don't give me problems... not evenm N64 gave me problems... but sonic riders for the gamecube, I would use my palm to rotate the control stick, and the little plastic thingy on it had ripped off, it was very painful unlocking everything.
and smash attacking in SSBM now hurts....

I am the undisputed master at mashing the A button . I use both thumbs alternately for about 2.4x speed. 4 sec in Pokey Pummel in MP7.
I can do just as good with one hand

But yeah, MP1, I once got a blister from rotating so hard... and then the skin actually came OFF. Ow, that stung...

Anyways... the only other injuries Ive had is nearly falling off a DDR pad and, you know, cutting my foot when I wear socks on the machine

Thankfully, no thrown wiimote yet!

I don't know why, or if this is normal, but I tend to press insanely hard when pressing buttons.

I've gotten sore arms from having to rotate the analog stick on Dragonball Z Budokai 1/2/3/Tenkaichi/Tenkaichi 2.

Not so much number 1. But from 2 on up, they make special moves insanely difficult.

Sore thumbs from games that use joystick for movement such as God of War. Or even just the D-Pad on games like Gundam Battle Assault 1/2.

Most of all, the SNES. SNES controllers are a pain in the ass (not literally) to me. The buttons are so awkward I end up getting sore thumbs almost every time I play. Most notable on games that move around A LOT like Maximum Carnage.

Of course Mario Kart 64. The controllers were awkward for me as well and I ended up getting sore wrists from that.

The Wii has to be the worst, however. From bowling/baseball/golf etc... I had shin problems for almost 3 weeks. And most of all, insanely sore shoulders/chest/upper back/lower back for the same amount of time. I mean, implementing the movement was an awesome thing to do, but I lift a LOT, and don't do as much aerobic activity as I should, so stuff like that for hours on end with no mind to stop really does a number on me.

EDIT: Who would have thought so much activity/injury could come from video games? O_o

kinda old thread, but I figure it applies:

Tennis elbow for the Wii.

And I play the baseball, not the tennis anyway.
