Is anyone else but me actually going to go to work with their parents? I know most people on this board are 15 or older, but I'd say as long as your under 18 you should be able to go.

Does anyone have a good Take your kid to work story from past years? And Did anyone even know that it's this Thursday?

I did it once at the Pentagon. sadly... I had to walk through the whole place. We could have gotten to ride on their little buses they let drive around too

I did once in elementary school, but that was it. I still don't understand what my dad's job was. Some kind of really top secret thing with the Air Force. Now, it's some kind of non-top secret thing with the Army.

At the school in Michigan, they insisted that only girls were allowed to go to "take your kid to work day".

I'm probably not going to do it because I never did this with my parents before. I even forgot that day existed.

Plus, they wouldn't want me to miss school anyway.

Well, it did used to be "Take your daughter to work day".

I never did it on any specific day, but before the steel mill shut down (it's back up now), my dad took me down there and showed me around. Which was probably a giant safety hazard and liability, but meh.

I did this once in like 6th grade when my dad worked for some Networking company. We ended up installing Jedi Knight on some of the computers and just played that online all day.

That's the only time I ever did this though, and well now I'm older.

I never did this, I think my dad asked me if I wanted to go once, but I said "No, it'd be boring." And he was perfectly okay with that. He even told me about how he went with his dad once and was bored out of his mind before prompting me to decide. Being my age now, no way I'd go. Embarrassment + boredom = lose.

Well, my dad works at Burger King, so I don't really have to worry about being embarassment. I know kids at my school in my classes that work at Burger King for a normal job. The only problem will be I don't know much of what to do yet (even though I've done it plenty of years in the past).

Only problem though is, I don't get to miss school, because my dad works 4 PM - Close. And because of that, I'm going to have to stay awake for quite a while. I guess today I have to actually stay up and go to bed at a reasonable time rather than going to bed at 3:30 PM, waking up around 10 PM, and staying awake until 5 AM to wake up at 6:45 AM.

Last semester I was supposed to go to work with my dad to work but in the end I just lied and told everyone that I went . I didn't have to do a report or anything like that though so if you have to then that might change things.

I remember this! I got to ride around on the bus my dad drove all day reading Nintendo Power and talking about Star Trek with him. It rocked.

Even if I had a kid I wouldn't take it to work. Probably get its arm ripped off in a machine. It's not a safe place.

I wouldn't drag my kid to work if I had one. They'd probably realize how many rejects I have to put up with. If these people were smarter they'd win Darwin awards.

My dad just takes me with him every now and then when I have nothing better to do. He's a truck driver, it's an interesting job, so it's cool.

It'd be cruel to take a kid along on my job though. It's SOOOOO BOOOORING.

I've seen people in other departments in the building take their kids to work, but not in mine.

The MAJORITY of people here wouldn't have kids because most of us are in the late teens/early twenties. I'd think.

Yeah, my work is mostly 18-25-year-olds, but there were at least two babies born in the past year or so. I know for one of them, the father (who worked there) was 25, I don't know about the other one...

Heh heh, I go to my parents job like three times a week, at least. They work at a horse racing facility, and it's right on the way to my shcool.
