I downloaded DeSmuME, supposedly the best DS emu and then used eMule to get a NSMB rom. When I go to open the game, it loads past the screen where the Nintendo logo appears then gives me a screen saying that it couldn't erase the file and that I should reset it and try again. I can't get past here, even when i tried it in a different emulator (iDeaS) and even on another computer. My guess is that there's someting wrong with the rom I got. Should I just try for a different rom?

DS emulation isn't good enough to emulate all or even some games yet.

no$gba can handle some games that use 3D models, but they'll be really slow. You will also need to find the Nintendo DS BIOS.

Which are illegal to obtain, so don't request them. Just a heads-up.
And pretty much everything said in this topic is true. No DS emulator is good enough to emulate NSMB perfectly.

To be 100% honest here, I'd have to say you'd be better off buying the game. DS is relatively new, and there aren't going to be very good emulators for it yet. If you're really into not having to buy the games, you can still get a flash card that runs roms on the real DS. But either way, the best solution for playing DS games is on the real hardware.

I already have beaten the game on my friends NSMB but I don't see him much anymore to ask for it. I could buy it though. Thanks. This can be closed when a mod sees it.

Works in no$gba, just get the bios, and configure "GBA Cartridge Backup Media" and "NDS Flash Cartridge Backup Media"

My problem is the opposite.
I want a good number of DS games, and I'd be more than willing to pay for them. I just don't want a DS to play them on.

Hopefully Nintendo will come out with a DS Player for the Wii, as that's looking like it'll be my only hope for these games.

I'm somewhat with Kailieann. I like the games, I want a DS as well. But I also want a DS player for the Revolution. I mean how small do they want to make these screens?

You do realise that the screens have actually only been getting bigger, right?

I think the DS is 32x64 pixels larger than the GBA, if I remember correctly.

16x32. I know because I wrote a program to add borders in GBA mode.

I know that but I like playing my games on BIG screens. I usually play my games on a 42" Hi-Def Plasma Screen.

Well, and unless the case with GBA it have stuff that isn't as easy to reverse-engineer and emulate.

GBA emulation came around before the thing was released IIRC. And even could use some leaked Demo ROM.
