So... We'd better get them while there still are any left?
I claim 7EC7F0-7EC7FF, and probably 7EC7D0-7EC7EF too. |

This is better than my repointer program, but it requires some Hex Editor experience. | ||||||||||||||||

Uh... What?
"desert downstairs" "Map on topright of SMW"? ...The only things that comes to mind is the desert and sky worlds in DW:TLC... |

Please don't link to ROMs. It's both against the board rules and the law.
Make an IPS patch instead. |

...didn't someone post data related to modifying the extra Mario sprites found in GFX00? I can't find it in the archive, so I guess that it was posted during the three or four days that was lost.
Can whoever it was that found it please post it again? |

A few comments:
1) Why did you assume that FuSoYa removed the Ctrl+Del thing from Lunar Magic 1.63? 2) The status bar looked good. During the Bowser battle. 3) You should have added "PROOF READING: leogman" to the credits. 4) Midway point in Bowser's Tower = Useful item of the year. 5) Please lower the time limit in Bowser's Tower. It's too easy. (I mean. I had 3 seconds left when I reached Bowser. 3! Geez! Be greedy in the future!) |

Edit: Sorry. Misunderstood your question.
As far as I know, Layer 3 can only use the two first palette rows. (This is a SNES limitation and can't be bypassed) What you're talking about is making it use a sprite palette, right? I'm afraid that that would be impossible. (edited by Smallhacker on 01-09-06 01:27 AM) |

Sorry. MWR doesn't support editing sprite tile maps. (The thread "Sprite creation" in the archive by mikeyk contains all the info you need, except for the dead goomba tile, which can be found in one of my posts in the archive rom map.)
I have to make a sprite tilemap editor some day... |

Sorry. I was in a hurry yesterday and didn't have time to look up the offsets.
9DA8: Goomba walking frame 1 9DA9: Goomba walking frame 2 9DAA: Goomba turning frame Goombas will use the first two sprite pages. In order to make them use the bottom two ones, set Goomba's Graphics Byte 1 to 05. |

I've wanted to improve many of my old hacking tools to make them more non-sucky, but my HD went boom around a year ago, causing me to lose the source code. |

I've had some plans on making my own patching format, DPPS (Dynamic Positioning Patching System), but I never finished coding it.
|
A DPPS file contains IPS blocks, DPPS blocks and Pointers. First, it patches the ROM with the IPS blocks. Then, it patches the DPPS blocks (where there's free space in the ROM). Pointers are, as you might guess, pointers which are placed in the ROM. These pointers can be set to point to any part of a DPPS block. There would also be a few extra features, like optional RATS protection of inserted DPPS blocks.
