Hello all. Some of you might know me as Van Rhanell from Xeogaming or NFF. I might start RPing again, and should start sim battling again to reprove my mediocrity. I'm a slow poster in general but should have a few things to offer, in music and art especially.

TransAtlantic or maybe Office of Strategic Influence might be close, but I can't find their music anywhere. Interestingly enough they're also DT side projects. Really, there's nothing else that sounds like Liquid Tension Experiment except if one or more musicians were in it. Jordan Rudess' solo and duet albums offer some further stuff. In An Evening w/ John Petrucci and Jordan Rudess (btw the closest thing yet to a 'dream theater unplugged' thing) in particular, you'll hear small odds and ends from Three Minute Warning in a few of the songs. Some of Phish's better tunes might interest you, if you're into really long improv with some quirky humorus sections. If you're into more jazzish stuff then there's probably many more supergroup type albums with technical but fun material.

I was playing Metroid Prime for a good 2 hours today, starting from 5% in the Chozo Ruins (15 missiles, 1 energy tank). After about 2 hours I had 90 missiles, 7 energy tanks, had just beaten Thardus, and had 50% of scannables scanned. I purposely didn't use any save points this time. Is it just me, or are most people a good 3.5-4 hours into that game by that time? I don't know how I shaved off so much time, I think it was from not saving.

I apologize if somebody else already posted this, but it's fairly new to me. It's called The Sand Game, and is basically a cool artistic program you can entertain yourself with. It simulates water, sand, oil, and salt among other things, and reminds me of playing in the sink back when I was younger. Without further adue, go play it!

well, this is the band Supersuit, nothing to be proud of yet. The song right now is the beginning of a concept album following a great story of the fictional crime boss Gnatthands Moonfeet, I'll tell more of that later. There's other unrelated songs that should be up shortly. Me on keyboard.

Most people cringe when I mention this band, but I love their sense of humor and the amazing skill of Les Claypool and Tim Alexander. My favorite songs from them right now are DMV, Anti-Pop, Sgt. Baker, and Tommy The Cat. I'd call their music funk/alt. metal, though on several P2P programs they are considered their own genre.

There's bound to be a fanfic about this, as dbz has had every other aspect scientifically analyzed. I'd guess they would have to fuse about 4.5 months after conception, then the one baby would be born and defy a few laws of the universe, so have wierd powers we've probably seen many times by now. Lots of big evil things would try to destroy it and we might end up with another legit saga or two. If the offspring was a male, chances are it would be wearing that same garb that all fusion people have.

I had a truly fermented orange sucker once. It tasted like shampoo. I've never tried to eat shampoo, but it's gotten on my toungue once or twice. It wasn't a name brand sucker either, some mexican thing, and was shaped like a lower hemisphere. If I wasn't playing Star Wars Battlefront then, I wouldn't have taken as much of that in.

Meh, it's winter and I'm 15, a job at this point is not a necessity. I think I can perform most functions required to do low level work I'll be involved in sometime in the warmer months, that should be fun. Maybe not a food-related job though, I'm spectacularly unhygenic in summer.

From what I've heard, 35% of today's adults are truly Bible believing, and at the current rate my generation's amount will be 4%, making me quite the minority. With politics, you have to start somewhere, and beliefs that you've grown up with and hope to fufill are a great place, if you know what you're doing. The watering down of truth and values that are only unique to America have done some damage, but much of deterioration is coming from many individuals trying to be .. individuals. Take a random sample from today's 14-17 year olds (our "future") and there will be no common opinion on what boundries should be set for which things. If they had stayed true to a code or just maybe an entire religion, there would be much more agreement even in the most opposite battles. If you asked them very general questions of great contrast like many people ask today, it would create a false sense of togetherness and be hopelessly unaccurate. America has welcomed everyone since it opened its doors, the premise was to have Biblical rooted law but let people worship freely as they pleased. For whatever reason, this isn't good enough for many people today, which suggests that America's people will both raise their government and destroy it.

I really liked the two big Dreamcast ones, Skies of Arcadia and the Grandia series. The pirate theme of SoA was what really drew me in, and the special move progression was enjoyable and different for each character. Grandia (and 2) had a good looking battle system, particularly the way you could move around in your attack menu. I've found this genuinly hard to finish too. I'm not big on real time rpgs, there's probably more out there that I would like too if I knew about them.

Dream Theater - Voices

One of the best simpler melodies I've heard from DT, and vocals that mostly aren't too high to sing along. The mood goes from dark to much lighter, which I really like. I see this song as being about anxiety, causing confusion within a person's life. This song has odd connections to the other songs in Awake, like in the slow string melodies and the lyric "sex is dead, death is sex". Good song to play too, all instruments have some very dramatic moments.

My arcade went from a single Max 2 machine (strangely in an Extreme cabinet) to an actual Extreme then another slightly older DDR Extreme that looked imported and has a bad left side. They also got Beatmania but that's another story, and still too difficult to comprehend. I haven't AA'd anything at the arcade yet, but I've been able to on some of those 7-step trance songs on Max 2.

The impression I got of ITG was that it was just a lot like Stepmania. With the ridiculous difficulty levels and cool visual effects, the timing is probably not quite as strict. I played it on a home metal pad and was suprised at how long some of my combos were.

Heh, you'd probably like other songs like "Slob On My Knob" or some of NWA's better ones. I think rappers make songs like this to glorify their lifestyle, while more obscene music (Frank Zappa being a good example) is usually comedic or to prove how wierd our views on censorship are. It would do good to have a rapper or two get in trouble with the 'content' of their songs, just to prove that the first amendment won't always work. Swearing (saying God in vain counts too), sexual content in most instances, and visual swearing are the usual obscenities according to me. Violence can be a tricky one; most of it is ok in anime/mecha, slapstick comedy and art-based fighting, but stuff like UFC and even those crime investigation shows can be too much. I usually listen to progressive rock, one of the cleaner genres out there.

Somehow, I put a dot before the 'i', but now that I think about it there's a 30% chance I might do it some other way. I have really odd, inconsistant penmanship, and usually use a pencil and print. My writing reached its best-looking peak in 4th grade, then stayed exactly the same for 6 years and maybe a little more wobbly. Funny how I started to excel in drawing after that.

Ewwww smoking. As far as attraction goes, whenever I hear/find out a girl smokes any interest i have in her instantly drops. My mom's smoking throughout my younger childhood created in me a bitter hatred for the tobacco/chemical devices. It's pretty much her fault I have crap stamina (can't run a mile or pass Max 300 heavy[yet]). It really would be better if nobody smoked, no matter how much it makes a character.

Ohh boy, the leading statement is always the hardest part for me. Correct me if I'm wrong(please), but does any religion besides the Abrahamic followers of God who found Jesus to be His son [since then condensed into Christians] give clear teaching of what to do and what not, and have a constant source of redemption and forgiveness? It seems like other religions are either very general principles or make up rules as things go so people can follow it better (and it's sad how many Catholics don't recognize hell, yet believe in the fictional purgatory). Then there are physical and/or mental disciplines that recognize a form of spirit, not quite a religion but maybe a code followed to unlock certain feats otherwise unattainable. Christianity has seemed the most complete path for me, in truth having no prerequisites and building love, wisdom, will, and sincerety. Among other basic things, it is a faith where the created have a loving bond with their Creator. I go to a Catholic church simply because it's most accesible and know that the sermons there are never laced with lies. I'm also in a mainly Protestant youth group (Element Student Ministries) that is 500x greater than any catechism I know of for its Truth and manner of speaking. It's sooooo great to be secure spiritually, I don't think many people have that today, no matter what faith.

Of course the holocaust did happen, so the only crime you can convict this man of is lying. While it is a sin, and on a grandscale subject, I'm not sure if it alone will have him punished, as America's finest Bill Clinton showed. He could have also been awfully brainwashed, to the point where you'd show him the disgust of which prisoners were treated at Aushwitz and he'd do everything in his power to prove the images were fake. The right to say the holocaust didn't exist is probably valid, but if it weren't, it would only be to save him from the immediate public opinion ("you're a moron, GTFO"). In American Free Speech's fuzzy mass, lies are never comparable to profanity, and even that's been bent long past the breaking point.
