Hey fellas, here's my world 1 demo of Super Mario World. I took a page from Icegoom and used his SmW Redrawn as a base. I'm still gettin the hang of Lunar Magic, so please go easy on me. Somma the levels are longer than the original SmW levels. I hope you all like it, here's some screens...

Read the readme please, enjoy.

I've been messing around with the enemy data for our Castlevania hack. I've been testing out many hypothetical ideas for enemies. The most significant thing I was able to do so far was create this boss in the above screenshot using the engine for the original medusa boss. Here are some of the things I made it do:

- It moves very fast
- It moves across left and right and stays in that same row on the screen, moving up and down only slightly
- Unlike the medusa boss, it stays one color. And it's red.
- I sped up the animation of the sprite to make it look like it pulsates
- It shoots those little green things (originally the snakes), which chase you around in the air
- I gave it new graphics (though they might be a little out of place for this game)

In edition to messing with the enemies, I also have been creating a good deal of new sound effects. I have been able to mimic sound effects from Castlevania 2 identically. I also created several of my own. I also made them happen for certain situations (for example, giving the meat chop it's own sound effect). Nothing more advanced than that though.

I'm glad this is still being worked on, now I'm inspired to work on my Castlevania hack. Nice job, I can't wait till it's finished.

I meant to post earlier, but I was really busy this past week. I still gotta tie up a few loose ends. Thanks for the comments everyone, I really appreciate'em. I'll take the comments in consideration when I work on the hack some more. Most likely in 2007.

Sorry Icegoom, I didn't see this part of the post. But yeah, it's Bowser talking to Mario through the message blocks.

Well FcEuXd SP has a built in hex editor, which you can snag here.

Or, you can try somma the other hex editors here.

Which hex editor is the best? You might wanna look at a thread on which hex editor people like to use, see the thread here.

Good luck with your hack.

As Frank Barone says in Everybody Loves Raymond... Holy Crap! I really dig the SoTn statues, that adds extra flava to the game. really nice work Dr. Mario.

This is just a little thing I'm looking at working on, just for a little fun. It's based off of a picture of an Alucard sprite that I saw, that Thaddeus made, I shortened the legs to fit the Simon Belmont sprite. I'll have to try to figure out if I can ad a tile to the whip swinging animation though if I plan on doing anything with it.

That looks pretty cool too, I can see that sprite in a CV hack with a very demonic setting. It's pics like these that make me drool when they're shown, I'm a big CV fan.

Okay here's two hack release (I wanted to release'em at 12am Christmas day but I'm gonna be out of town.) Lags_80 gave me the green light to release his hack here. So here goes...

Blue Mario Bros. 3 is a smb3 hack that Lags_80 made a demo release back in 2005, but then he re-released his demo on another board and I offered to beta test it. One thing led to another and I was making levels for this hack, then beneficii offered to make world maps for this hack, and that's how it all happened. Here's some screens of somma Lags80's levels...

And get the patch here.

---------------------------------------------------------

Super Mario Bros. Challenge is an old hack when The Challenge Games Community used to be around, the hack was being worked on but fell through the cracks years ago, so I took it upon myself to finish it (I remember DeathKnight making a thread if people wanted to finish any CG hacks last year.) You can find the old demo at Zophar's Domain. Well, here's some screens, and for the record all I did was finish the levels that weren't hack...

And here's the patch. Well, Merry Christmas, Happy New Year etc.

Anyways, I think I want to make another Mario game hack. I want to continue with this treasure finding theme for Toad. But I want it to be a SMB3 hack. Does anyone happen to know if there is patch out there that swaps Mario's GFX for Toad's? If there is, did the hacker bother with the various power up GFX.

*Imagines Toad with raccoon tail and Toad in Hammer Bros. Suit*

Also, what SMB3 game editor do you guys recommend? I use Win XP.

I remember there's a hack out there called Toad Bros. (SMB1 Hack) It looked like Omniverse made that hack back in the day but as for Toad having sprites with suits doesn't exist. The Toad smb1 hack has some Toad sprites you might wanna use to jump start a SMB3 hack. Here's a preview...

And for hacking SMB3, take a look here. You'll have no prollem using those editors in Windows XP, but MI3 didn't work too well on my pc.

How the hell did that happen? xD
I'm not gonna mix vodka with my coffee in the morning anymore.

I was looking at SMB3 at my cousin's house earlier today, it shouldn't be too hard to add Toad's face with the suits. Just a minor edit where Mario's face should be good to go.

Rockman from the old Tek Hacks site did an SMB3 hack that's fulla ideas. He got in contact with me almost two years and gave me his other smb3 hacks so I can work with'em, since he won't work on'em at all cause ya know, life gets in the way. What a nice guy.

The object of this hack is simple, get 100 coins in 100 seconds. He took out the P switch and put in a T switch to give the player 10 seconds of extra time. I'm going to make this hack for worlds long, with 5 levels in each world. This hack used to be called "Race Against Time" but I'm calling this hack "Mario in Time Flies" Good yes? Here's some screens...

The new title screen, and I took out the flashing animation...

Here's my first attempt in making the first world map, it's the final design and you'll notice that the dungeon gfx are from SMBDX for the GBC...

That's one of Rockman's levels, I'm keepin the original design he did, and from here on I'll be hacking the world 1 airship and worlds 2 3 and 4, now that I'm home for the holidays this'll be the hack to work on. I'll try to release it before my birthday or on my birthday...
