ND represent. We have tons of things we do before games. Every Friday night at midnight the drummers from the band go out on the quad infront of the Dome and play songs for 30 minutes and a couple hundred students are there just going nuts and stuff. Then there's the obligatory tailgating the day of games. At the game, when it's finished, all the students stay for the almamater to be played. Other fun traditions are making a different shirt for each game, last year they were mostly about the team we were playing but this year most of the shirts were about how increadibly bad ass our players were. Man, college football rules.

Hey y'all, lets talk about the BCS and all the amazing things it's done for the world of college football. Or just talk about what games you're really looking forward to.
First off, my Irish are going to finish off the season with two more victories over the Cuse and Standford. I'm hoping we end up going to the fiesta bowl and playing Alabama, that would be a great game. Especially if my pops can get tickets to the game. Who thinks that USC doesn't stand a chance against Texas and that USCs only hope is Reggie Bush going for 10 touchdowns and 500+ yards of rushing? Cause I sure do, Matt Lienart is nowhere near as good as he was last year and Reggie Bush is probably the greatest rushing back I've ever seen play in my life, pro or college. And finaly, the Heisman, I'd say it's a guaruntee for Reggie Bush if USC wins the national championship and if not it's a toss up between Reggie and Vince Young. |

FYI Advent begins four Sundays before Christmas and represents a season in the Christian calendar of anticipation for the birth of Christ.
As for what I want, only two things. 1) A phone call from my favorite Georgia girl 2) $$$ so I can get me a new phone to get the phone call. other than that, i'm gonna be flat broke so any form of money would be good. (edited by Young Guru on 11-21-05 12:13 PM) |

Well, considering Reggie went for 513 in his game against Fresno St., SC does have a chance. All I'm saying is that USC lives and dies on Bush in the important games. If it wasn't for Bush we (ND) would've destroyed USC. Same with Fresno St. And as I see it Reggie is a shoe in for the Heisman as long as they win out, and if SC loses to Texas in the Rose Bowl then it's gonna be a tossup between young and bush.

I study Electrical Engineering at ND and that keeps me pretty occupied (15 hours of classes and 8 hours of lab a week, plus potentially research). I want to get into the automotive industry and hopefuly work on car audio. I love messing with speakers and music and stuff like that.
Currently unemployed but I worked 9+ a day at a hardware store. |

I just got the new Need for Speed: Most Wanted, and I gotta say it's increadible. It has all the best aspects of Need for Speed: Underground 2, and Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 2. By that I mean, it's got both tuners and exotics. It's got the upgrade system for parts, performance, and visuals. It also has free roaming cities to drive around in and find new races. But if you don't like that concept then you can just do the typical click and race, which was a major complaint of a lot of people for underground 2. And the best part of all, it has the great cop chases in hot pursuit 2, except 100 times better. So, basically, I'm really excited about how badass this game is and all that. Anybody else have it, or planning on getting it.

Right now I just can't see how Vince Young could get the heisman. I mean, he's definately number 2 and there really isn't anybody else that should be on the list. The thing is Reggie is on such an awesome platform of play, I'd venture to say he'd be one of the NFLs best running backs, where as Young is a great, nay, amazing college player. He's got some things to improve, but he'll do that next year, when him and my boy Brady Quinn can square off for the Heisman.
Speaking of which, I'm excited as hell cause my boys Brady Quinn and Jeff Samardzija are both likely to win the top qb and reciever awards respectively. What a great year for the Irish. Next year's gonna be amazing. |

I'm going with PS3 simply for the fact that Resident Evil 5 is coming out for it and that PSX and PS2 haven't failed me yet. They've both had great games and endless amounts of fun. I'm also interested in the Revolution with all the old game downloads and waht not.

Alcohol is a funny thing. I don't think people should be drinking a lot when they're young, but when you get older (and i guess for me that would be 18 or so) I see no problem with alcohol. Hell, if you want, get piss drunk and call that friend up the next day to find out what you were doing, just make sure that you're smart enough not to do something stupid like go driving or rape someone, that's a terrible thing and if you can't control yourself from doing that then you shouldn't drink like that. In general, drinking should not end in you not remembering what you did the night before, just a little buzz, maybe something to make you more social, but if you can't be social without alcohol then you might have some problems as well. And I agree, alcohol is a social thing and being completely against it without having had experience with it is not a good thing. And now for a few closing thoughts, Pabst Blue Ribbon is the college kids beer of choice, even if you can get a head as big as a glass, vodka is a terrible terrible thing it will always lead to hangovers, and "Liquor before beer, never fear. Beer before liquor, never sicker."
And I'm 20 if we're keeping stats on these things. (edited by Young Guru on 11-29-05 08:33 PM) |

Free time... Well mine usually starts somewhere around 8 or 9 at night and doesn't end til 1 on weekdays and 4 on weekends. So i guess I'd say I have a good amount of free time.
I spend most of my free time hanging out with my friends, going to parties, playing basketball or ultimate, swing dancing, and playing games. Right now the only two games I play are RE:CVX and NFS:MW. |

Great song Zem,
And finaly, somebody else in the world that agrees with me that Vodka is just plain terrible. I can only stomach that stuff after I'm drunk, but people know that hard alcohol after you're drunk always leads to hangovers. |

Originally posted by Danielle I don't know if this is what you meant by that, but a lot of people I know who are against alcohol and drinking seem to think that everyone who drinks is an alcoholic, even if they only have a couple of drinks at a dinner, or tailgate or something like that. I think that's one of the issues that a lot of people have with alcohol, is that they assume that if someone likes to get drunk every once in a while to have a good time that they are an alcoholic, but one's really only an alcoholic if they can only have fun when they're drunk or if they drink to deal with their problems. And Advil LiquidGels work great for hangovers, at least in my book. |

I thought Doom 3 was a pretty fun game. Albeit, I don't play too many fps on my computer (Unreal II, Unreal Tournament 2k3 and 2k4, and Quake 3 Arena) so my expertise on the mater is pretty much none. But coming from the perspective of a gamer I had a lot of fun with the game. If you've got the right computer the game looks increadible and runs really fast. Also, if the game isn't scary enough for you start out on hard so that on top of things jumping out at you you also have the knowledge of knowing you're going up against a pinky with only a pistol. Anyways, I had good times with it, haven't tried the online mode yet though.

Yeah, as far as I know it's impossible to underheat an electronic device because that's basically the goal of electronics. The cooler devices run at the better they work, less resistance and stuff, but coolness because of fluid is always a bad thing.

Yeah, interesting stuff, and now it's a definate that USC and Texas should be playing in the Rose Bowl considering how attrociously they beat on their last opponants. God, that was entertaining stuff. Right now I'm thinking the BCS bids are gonna be
Rose Bowl- USC v. Texas Fiesta Bowl- Notre Dame v. Ohio State Sugar Bowl- Georgia v. Oregon (not too sure about this one) Orange Bowl- Penn State v. W. Va. And ND was a lock from day one, as long as we're eligible for an at large we get chosen. Why? Cause we travel like none other, spend like it's nobodies business, and leave cities in relatively good condition. |

I switched to lololol about a year ago, and it's been great. I enjoy the features it has over IE, like adBlock and tabbed browsers. Also, since I got my new computer I used IE once to download lololol then i didn't use it until about a month ago to play kung fu chess cause it needed ActiveX and what happened, I got a handful of adAware things. Never going back to IE, the only reason it's still on my computer is for file systems. |
