Well i can do nothing else than saying that Disch is right, C/C++ is better than java in that way.. (My tip:Learn C++, not C. C++ is just better). For making 2D games, you could use any friggin language you want. But who wants to make 2D games in the year 2006? maby it was popular in the 90s.. Cmon, open your eyes, there is no reason to make 2D games, learn a language that you can make 3D with instead(I know you can make 3D in GM, but that 3D is just... forget it!). Learn to use a real programing language instead of game maker, you will have hell more use of C++ than game maker skills, if you wanna start at a game company, lets say capcom. Do you think they would want you if you were better at C++ or game maker? Dont waste your life on game maker while you still are young.. Okay, all this might have sounde' stupid, BUT (yes there is a "but") i'm talking about the money making bussines. If you got other plans in your life than computers or programing, sure, make games in game maker as a hobby or to waste some free time. But as i told you, if that's not the case, then learn real programing.

I'm able to do both music and modelling.. But the music will be midi.. And the modelling, im useing swift 3D and/or deep creator tho. (My trial period of MS3D went out ;P gonna get the full version soon). BTW i can do some codeing in blitz basic.. and C++.. but forget about the C++, i wont waste time on that.. lol if you didn't realize yet, those games ARE 3D! LOL! that was even more stupid, those games are like 90% 3D, its just side scrolling. The same with new super mario bros.. You gotta learn the difference bettwen 2D and 3D already. I tell it to you again. SSBM = 3D side scrolling. NSMB = 3D side scrolling.. got it?

well, first, you should setup some kinda rules or something. Like what kinda help you want and what you want ppl to do and such and if you need help with ripping and moddifying.. I could help, but i never get to motivated if i dont get anyone to work with I hate codeing on my own, it sucks

lol i cant c any problems with samus got no diagonal shooting stance, even i can make that moddification, plus, it doesn't mater if they only have a few palettes, just change the fucken color of them lol, that takes like 5 sec to do on a tile.. 16 bit sprites take alot of time to modify compared to 8 bit ones. ppl would get tired on modifying tons of 16 bit sprites if they don't get paid, mostly.. but i dont really care what sprites you use.

i could do some programing if someone could just tell me what friggin programming language this is goin to be done in..(3rd time i ask...)
