* He came in, covered in soot, and looking a bit burnt. *

"Well, I'm here. But I'm not sure if what's his face is. And especially not sure if we can continue where we left off..."

* He stood near Dracoon, coughing dust and brushing off the mess the other board's explosion had cast on himself. Then he began putting stuff back up and resuming normalcy... *

All I miss is my meagre postcount... but now my member number is really low, so, I guess it's a fair trade.

X-nauts indeedy, I say. I just wish I had some legal way to acquire the soundtrack to Paper Mario 2. The sound to it rocks, at least in my opinion.

Hey. Well, I've got myself into quite a pickle, and just want to know some stuff. If you guys know anything I don't, then that'd be nice to know.

My Laptop's hard drive had a head crash. Full thing. Click of death. I tried to reboot it (I knew it was a bad idea, but I tried anyway) and failed. It had about 2 reboot attempts and 3 minutes total of sustained head crash. I need data which I accumulated over a year of logs. Only 20 gig of the drive was used, and I only need at most 600 MB of logs. What are the chances of them surviving so that some sort of data recovery guys could get it off?

I like the most basic, most plain, fastest loading layout possible.

...Yes, I'm a holdout from the days of DOS.

* Dracoon had been wise to go there, as just after he said that, Metal boosted on up from far below, with his built-in jetpack, and waved at Dracoon. *

"Aye, it's about time we've had a rematch. I've got some new tricks this time. Like... THIS!"

* Metal pointed his wrists at the floor under Dracoon. Two grappling harpoons (relatively small, but sharp and tough) flew out, with oodles of a very lightweight but tough spring keeping them attached to Metal. They flew at the skyscraper underneath Dracoon. Should he succeed, they would hit the area right underneath his opponent and then allow him to literally pull the floor out from under Dracoon. *

"I hope you don't mind a bit of remodeling!"

Eh... it was only on for about 3 minutes while head crashing. And I forgot to mention; it was a 60 GB drive in total. But there is a good chance of all the data being gone, yeah, depending on where it crashed... but can't hurt to ask around. Thanks for the info, since this is the first time it happened to me.

Yeah, generally it's based on how long you're around, it seems. Took me forever to get anything. Then the board exploded. Oh well, that's life.

101 is mine. Weird number for the win! ...Is it unsettling to have a lower member number here than some newly rejoining vets, or what?

* BAMMO! MEtal got a-pounded by the building debris. All of it. Heck, it seemed like he was dead. However, he managed to emerge from it before he could take a fatal fall. Looking a bit dented, like crumpled foil, the man of steel... smiled? *

"Well well well, looks like I'm going to have to fight like a man after all."

* After saying that cryptic comment, he spread his hands out, and began chanting some sort of strange spell. Bizarre noises echoed through the city, and time seemed to distort for a moment. Then, he opened his eyes... and there was complete silence for 5 seconds. That was before... IT happened. *

"ANOTHER GATE!"

* Not one, but TWO explosions greeted Dracoon. A portal appeared on either side of Metal's foe, yawning open and revealing their extradimensional depths. They wasted no time in exerting great gravitational force on Dracoon, trying to tear him apart. But that wasn't all. They began tearing up nearby buildings and bringing the debris in... and it began to wildly orbit and erratically fly around the two portals, some of it threatening Dracoon. The portals themselves began to close in on Dracoon... but Metal was sure he would escape by then. *

* Metal decided not to waste time and just ran onto the battlefield, ready to fight. *

"Let's get this fight started!"

* He suddenly stopped, causing somewhat comical skid marks. Then he quickly pulled out... a nine-iron? He smiled sinisterly as he prepared for the upcoming fight. *

"Ga-----YAH!"

* For a moment, Metal looked vulnerable. However, he swung his right wrist into the way. His weird black wrist-watch suddenly hummed to life, and a very sharp looking laserblade appeared just in time to block the sword. This didn't keep Metal from being knocked backwards through a building, though. *

"Curse you, gravity!"

* BAM! The whole top of the nearby building was ripped off.... Metal had picked it up and was trying to fly into Dracoon, aiming blindly with the roof off of a somewhat small skyscraper. *

Most of the people here are old hands anyway. I bet there would be no way to keep people from finding it, no matter how weird a name you gave it.

Yup, not much of a change. My IRC nickname has also always been Metal_Man88. And on VGF forums, I'm just Metal Man.

Yesa, this is a different computer. Well, guess what. I'm having yet another hard drive problem, this one being just making it work. On this new computer I built myself, I go into the bootup with the CD-rom drive. Well then, it boots up the Windows installation thing and everything, and then I go to install the extra drivers needed for SATA.... but it needs a floppy drive, which I conveniently don't have. So I go into three other computers and try to borrow their floppy drives. The first floppy drive won't come out without me taking out ALL OF THAT COMPUTER'S MEMORY AND THE PROCESSOR. The second one is blocked by a satanic power cable which will not come out of the hard drive below it. And the final one, contrary to some tales, was not just right. It was so easy to get at... BUT I HAD NOT THE SCREWDRIVER TO UNSCREW IT WITH.

So, naturally, I'm angry, and mad, and insane. I go through the hassle to put all three computers back together, hoping that the two older ones were not injured during all the bumping and moving. I do all of this, trying to get the stuff out of the way so that we can have an orderly Dinner area. And instead... I just get annoyed.

I'm going to buy a new floppy drive even though I will only use it once. Unless... there is some way to get around this? Perhaps there is something I should know? I was really unsure where to put this, forum-wise, but I do want some technical info...

That is, if you haven't just scrolled down to this line without reading

When they run out of Greek names, they should start naming them after old Vice Presidents. Totally.

I have screwdrivers and screws, however the floppy drive in question has different sized screws and I don't have a screwdriver to remove it with.

In other news--went to Best Buy to buy an internal Floppy Drive, and they didn't have one. Beautiful.

* Metal was hit full-force by the deadly shot, however he rebounded, comically burnt and on fire. But Metal Man on fire is NOT good, as he can do some wicked things... with fire. *

"Heh heh heh. Things really heat up now!"

* Just then, he raised his hands in the air, and began glowing blue. Time began to bend and buckle in the palms of his hands, and the fire on them had turned a sickly hue of blue. The left hand suddenly lanced out with homing lightning energy made out of flaming temporal distortions, and the right hand threw a spray of blue fireballs in all directions, which would explode, freeze time in a 5 foot diameter sphere, then compress the area to the size of a ping pong ball and explode. The lightning inverted the colors of whatever it hit and then caused time to shatter off of the object, dealing damage to their form on a rather high level (ignoring physical strength almost entirely), and of course shocking their systems. Wherever this stuff DIDN'T hit Dracoon, it caused terrible destruction. Metal himself continued to take damage from the inferno on himself... but he didn't care. *
