I dunno. As soon as they were shown getting drunk in Wutai, I really started to like them as side characters during the game. Even to the point where I decided not to kick their asses at the mako cannon.

The voice dubs in this movie are a waste of talent. Cloud, Loz, Vincent, Reno and Barret were the only ones I saw with any talent for voice acting. The rest of the bunch sounded corny as hell, at least to me.
I prefer the english subtitles version more, I have to say... |

I rented it, and I thought it was okay, but I give them props for doing a good job on the animation... they did a very good job I thought, and that alone was very entertaining...
Originally posted by Rom Manic I think the corny voices might be the ones they use in a lot of different animes, but I don't know that's just me... (edited by Ghost on 05-04-06 12:11 AM) |

Originally posted by Ghost I wouldn't be surprised actually. The voice actor for Bateu in GITS 2: Innocence also did some random character from the Vampire Hunter D movie. I guess teir aren't many voice actors willing to do anime. (edited by Danielle on 05-10-06 09:11 PM) |

Originally posted by Clockwork JBOriginally posted by Ghost It's a shame really... Anime is one of the most beautifully designed animation, especially how crisp and clear it can be (depending on the anime). I love the art of it, but one thing I've noticed that I absolutley can't stand is the way some animes go... "AWWW... Kariko!" *falls down hard with a mushroom shaped cloud coming out of their mouth, and eyes blandly drawn* LOL Sometimes certain anime can be really immature, but that does depend on some of it I guess. |

Originally posted by Skyon I always thought that really well drawn anime did such cute scenes like you described as moments of comedy releif, to reduce the seriousness of the overall work so that the whole thing wasn't 100 percent serious business 100 percent of the time. Personally, if all anime were 100 percent serious 100 percent of the time, I would probably like it quite a bit less... |

This is a cool movie, but the game is better (edited by Zeldamaniac on 01-13-07 02:26 PM) |

How do you compare a 50+ hour RPG to an almost 50 minute CGI movie? I thought the movie was great for what I expected of it, and that was fluid action packed CGI. I must say I would have liked a better story. In retrospect the story for the movie was terrible, even if you played the game, but I mean for me the action more than made up for that.
