What's better, new Yoshi speak or old?
Do you prefer the old "Pi-pu-pi-pi-pu" (SMW) or the new way of speaking where he says "Yoshi!" in a high pitched voice?

I personally prefer the old way from SMW where he would make lots of funny "pi-pu" sounds. The new way is just a little bit too toddler for my liking.

I like Yoshi's new voice. The only thing I don't like about it is that relative low pitch wail he does when he beats a level (used in MP7). It's weird.

The only thing I have against Yoshi's new voice is the fact that he sounds like Kirby now. Kirby needs his own voice.

I agree with Peardian here, the "Wooooaaah!" Yoshi makes doesn't even sound like Yoshi.
I voted for the new as well, because it's better that Yoshi has a voice than "pi-pu"

I like the voice clips, especially when he eats something. It just sounds funny, in a good way.

Isn't "Yoshi" the only thing Yoshis can say?

They're pretty clearly communists.

I mean, pokemon.

I like Yoshi's new voice, but I still can't figure out whether he's saying Y-oh-shi, or Y-aw-shi. If only I could plug my gamecoob (I like saying that...) into my computer, then I could do some serious voice analysis, fail miserably, ask someone to help out, get a false positive, etc...

Play Yoshi's Story, it's pretty obvious there.

One of my favorite songs from Yoshi Story is the credits, with all of the Yoshis singing. Too bad I can't understand what they're saying.

For those of you have trouble telling what Yoshi says, here's a translation:

Yeah, the Yoshi's Story credits was cool. The title screen was also sweet.

Wasn't that in some old mario comic?

I like Yoshi's new way od speech. Yoshi only says "Yoshi" when he/she is talking. Yoshi makes more sound effects than "Yoshis". It sounds better.

I think it was called "The Adventures of the Super Mario Bros." or something like that. I have it along with the Legend of Zelda one.

I like Yoshi better... if he didn't talk much. I mean, so the new voice somewhat makes him more of a Kirby wannabe but...

I remember that in one of the really old Nintendo Powers. I have them still from 1992 to 94(They were my uncles until he passed them down to me) and I remember this exact comic strip being part of one of the "Adventures" in a book on Yoshi translation that the salesman sold to Mario and Luigi when they first met Yoshi. It was quite funny afterwards...Yet I dont recall exactly what happened...They got chased by him(Yoshi) or something...

Anyways...I really dont know. I love both. The pi-pu was always awsome, but the newer voice adds depth to him, so I dont know which to pick...

I stand at neutral...

Yeah, I have the entire comic in one book somewhere. As I recall they thought Yoshi was going to eat them, but he actually ate a Wiggler behind them.

I personally like the old voice because of its nostalgia value. SMW was the first game I bought for my SNES, back when I was 4 years old (12 years ago). I loved my SNES and I still hav the same one to this day (Although I've gone through 5 AC adaptors).

I'm glad Yoshi was brought up... I miss him.

I like his newer voice, because the pi-pu sound is the sound of Mario jumping on Yoshi's back... it would be like us making a "sit-down hard" noise out of our mouth "Boooomp".

And he was more boring with the pi-pu sound besides...

Im pretty much indifferent...

Either voice will do... they both fit I guess...

...however...

The older yoshi model I liked better... more specifically, the one from YI. It was the yoshi I grew attached to...
