Is there anyway that the board can maintain control of images posted my users that counts as art? I know some sites do (pokemorph.com for example), because it just might happen one day. I don't wanna plaster a nasty watermark on art that I post, but if I hafta, I guess i will

Putting a watermark on your pictures dosen't make it any more copyrighted, just more annoying to look at. Then there's paranoid artists out there who puts a big fat "DO NOT DISTRUBUTE OR I GET EMO" over the picture.
You just need to put a simple copyright in the corner or something, watermark is just for the paranoid. :/ |

Well, drawing something, then just putting "Copyright 2006" is illegal and doesnt copyright your work at all. You have to pay to copyright things.

Kiraxo, read the thing setz posted...which is new info to me, as well. Seems copyrighting is easy...just a bit harder to prove it if you don't pay, but still not impossible.

What I meant was, like, ensuring that people don't go around taking images off the board without permission first. It's just a jackass thing to do. It almost happened with insectduel doing it to me. Luckily, I think I stopped him.

Yes, becasue that's perfectly possible.
So, Einstein, how would we go about doing this? |

Maybe like find some new way to put programs into JPEGs so that when you open it your computer will blow up... or something.

Because that'll obviously not happen when you open the JPG to LOOK at it on the board or wherever else.
Heh... My engineering teacher told me the same thing that that website did... Guess he wasn't a crackpot after all. |
