I honestly don't know who I want for this season. I'm really looking for a singer that does not screw.

Here's what blew me away!:

Chris has been a very well-liked contestant on AI, but he ended up in the bottom three, while Elliot, Paris, Taylor, Kelly, and Katherine were safe.... I'm scared that Chris may have a good chance of getting voted off, but I hope not!

Maybe it was just because he didn't stick to rock last week...

I wonder... is America voting on performance all around, or are they taking a step at a time with each night they perform and then judge them off of one night?

I think many people were just disappointed in his song choice, and if he comes back strong tonight, then he'll be fine. In my opinion, Chris is the best contenstant I've ever seen on AI, and I'm not too worried. If he gets voted off, I'd be 100% sure it was just... that he's overlooked by so many people because they consider him a shoo-in.
Which would be sad, but... it could happen.

Well, Idol was on tonight.

My favorite performances, in order:

1) Chris
2) Elliot
3) Paris
4) Taylor
5) Katherine
6) Kelly

The only highlight of Kelly's performance was the high note near the end. Otherwise it sucked.

Chris did amazing, the judges only like him, and semi-liked Paris and Elliot, the others were sad.

But from here on out, I like everyone that's in AI right now, but my next pick to be off is Taylor; I think he's a good guy, but he's not what I'll want to hear compared to the others.

Personally, I think the only one with talent is the one who sang Fuel. The rest of them I saw had no talent whatsoever. At least that guy had the balls to sing some rock. Even the Sinatra impersonator sucked ass. Same with the Stevie Wonder fraud.

Chris (If that's his name) would be my choice above all.

2 things shocked me about American idol last week...

1. Paris was voted off

2. You have the kick arse song "BLack Horse and the Cherry Tree" in your charts. It's my fave song of last year (and KT Tunstall's version's better) .

Spoiler:
Wow....just wow......so last nights results kinda pissed off my hubby and I. I'm only going to watch for Taylor. If he's gone next week, then, I really don't care for it anymore. It should have been Chris and Taylor at the end.

Try to use spoiler tags please. Some people might not have seen the show yet.

And now I am hearing that people tried to call in and vote and they kept gettign s busy signal and at times it would say that its the wrong number. So this might be just like last year's case...hopefully.

But it's known everywhere now isn't it? I mean... the west coast has shown it already... that's why I didn't use the spoiler tags... I posted today.

Some people may not have watched it yet, maybe they have it saved on Tivo or something.

However, if that's the case, they really shouldn't be in this thread. But it's always nice to be aware of these people and just use spoiler tags if you're going to use the person's name.

I'm shocked about the episode as well, absolutely shocked. But I sort of stopped watching the show, so I didn't see any of the performances. I really shouldn't talk.

...yeah, but it's FUEL. Is "nowhere" somewhere?

(Editor's note: This will most likely be the only post I ever make in this thread because I care not for the show and therefore hate America. )

Maybe it'll raise publicity for Fuel if Chris joins... you know America would really start to like them knowing Chris is with them...

I'm very curious about who will be booted off tonight. I think that Taylor did a fantastic job last night, even though he's my least favorite person. So I feel bad hoping he gets the boot. He really had it going. Elliot has a really nice voice, but he doesn't show his personality. While I think he's super nice and very talented, I don't know how he's going to make it when he doesn't show any spirit.
But Kat is definitely who I'm rooting for. She's got a fantastic voice, she's nice and she knows how to entertain. Not to mention she's from where I live, so she's on my radio station sometimes to talk about AI and everything. She's got a great personality.
I hope she wins, or at least makes it through tonight.

I like Kat on upbeat songs. She has a pleasant timbre and good control, but on ballads, she makes heavy use of vocal mannerisms that annoy me greatly when overused - melisma and a habit of scooping up to notes with that indescribable "uh" noise that sounds like a cross between a creak and a purr. I don't care for the Pageant Smile School of Emoting, either. I think she tries too hard to emote and be different on the ballads. When she seems to be relaxing and getting into the music, she sounds much better to me. (Case in point - Black Horse and a Cherry Tree).

I've always liked Elliott because he sounds great, doesn't oversing and, more often than not, seems to connect with the songs. He doesn't quite have that Y HELO THAR I AM A STAR thing going, so I doubt he's going to win.

I like to listen to Taylor. I like his rough-edged tone, and he's a great singer. Sometimes he can be embarrassing to watch, and I say that even though I'm also a doof with lots of nervous energy and minimal dancing skills. But he always seems like he's having a blast. And he does have that LOOK AT ME charisma that makes a hyoooge difference in this sort of competition. I predict Taylor FTW.
