I would have to agree here and that why hes top tier along with sheik and fox.

I would go with PEACH. She is very hard to learn playing with. Once you learn how to use the "whorenado" (d-smash) and do float cancel and how to use her butt you are fine. Some wave dashing and turnip toss is fine too. If you are learning dont use peach's toad or peach bomber to attack, thats pretty n00b and dont work at all. Peach counter is ganon so try to have some space between you and him. lol

Oh yeah, I also like to use Pikachu. I´ve used Jigglypuff a couple of times but I never get the B+Down to work. Maybe it´s because I press Down first.

I´m also quite good with Peach. "I enjoy being Yoshi, Ice Climbers, Kirby, and Donkey Kong too.. but I'm not so hot with them. 8D"

Yech, I suck with Ice Climbers but they´ve quite good moves.

Well, I like most of the characters.

I choose Luigi. He jumps high, his slippery shoes saved me from powerful hits many times, and he's funny. The Luigi Cyclone is my favorite attack because you can move when doing it and not when you do the Mario Tornado (Luigi Cyclone: wide. Mario Tornado: high).

Down is supposed to come first... although they're supposed to be pressed at the same time... just down a super split second before B.

Don't ask why but I'm awsome with Dr. Mario. I used him to get the trophies from Classic on hard and Adventure on hard and I almost never lose Vs battles with him!

You've got to be quite close to the enemy (read: like, touching him. ALOT) for it to work. But it's deadly (if you time it right)

Oh, THAT's what you mean by Down+B for Jigglypuff... I thought you meant the actual attack. Yeah, the enemy has to be at the centre of Jigglypuff, and it's kind of hard to do... right when Jigglypuff falls asleep it'll work.

WTF man. Wave dashing is a useful move. It can get out of range of another character hit box and you can perform a smash while wave dashing. Most useful is for fox and marth player, especially fox that can wave shine and thats very awsome. Is better to walk with a wave dash with luigi that walking normal, seriously. You can use your wave dash for mind games and in your dash dance, you can consfuse you opponent whie wave dashing dash dancing. You can combine wave dash with everything just learn to use it well.

Dash dancing is when you go back and forth in the same place like hitting the joysticks <-- and --> rapidly while wave dancing is like a dash dancing but with wave dashes. Can be a good mind game.

To clarify: the "wave" is the term I'm hung up on

"Wave dash" is no clearer to me than "wave dance"

I'd call myself a decent player, but there's one thing I'm still a tad confused on: L Cancelling. How exactly do I do it? I know; I'm an idiot. I don't want to hear that, I want to hear how to do it, please.
Isn't wave dancing holding down on the control stick, then jumping and air dodging as soon as you press the jump button?

No that's just a silly way to perform a technique to make you stop.

Wavedashing is essentially abuse of the physics of the game. To do it, perform a hop in to the air, and then quickly air-dodge in to the ground at any angle. Ideally, you do it within a frame of where the game counts as you leave the ground, and I believe the timing for this varies slightly between characters. You generally don't actually see your character leave the ground. The momentum from your air dodge will remain and your character will slide forward a distance determined by the angle of your dodge and your character's traction. For the purposes of various things, you're standing still, though.

This is useful for when you need to quickly change directions, quickly come to a complete stop, fake out the opponent, accelerate quickly while landing from being airborne, perform tilt and smash attacks while in motion, run faster than your character can normally (does not apply for every character), and many, many other things.

Due to differences in traction, it's more useful for some characters than others, but because of the sheer number of applications of it, any character will benefit from effective wavedashing.

Do a directional A attack in the air and press L the moment before you hit the ground. You stand back up in half the time it takes normally. Kind of hard to do but you'll get used to it. I generally do not like using it.

Grey's right, wave dashing is a fluff move.

If you aren't smart enough to be prepared for people to do it, you don't deserve to win, but if you keep your eyes open, its easy to make useless and it is easier to do, assuming you've played enough to know practically every move every character can do.
