Hello, this pertains to offset selecting in smb3 ws, i'm tryng to make the pyramid level into a dungeon....well when i go to the levels header and i choose all fortress it showes that sqwigly background for the floor and such, but when i go to save it i can choose from a variety of offsets and it's sticking to Hilly then i choose Dungeon, and it's a fortress level...but when i save it doesn't save it...is this a fatal error? or something thats common? thanks for your help

Originally posted by Mario_buster You cannot change a level's object set. This is because all levels are grouped together in their common sets. Example: Plains levels are between 0x1E010 to 0X2000F, Dungeon levels are from 0x2A010 to 0x2C00F. You cannot move because each chunk of ROM space has special code that draws special objects for that object set (like the Desert has the necessary code to draw a pyramid, so other level types cannot draw pyrmids). |

yeah you cant change the level object sets in smb3. you could always edit a dungeon level and put it's pointer in place of the pyramid level on the world map however

Works for SMAS. I tried it and it loads object sets very good regarding what the level offset is. Could be a 50% chance that it will work.

Not for all object sets. Just some. That's what I meant. I'm talking about switching Giant Object sets to either Sky or Piranha Plant. Or Hilly into Underground. DD did have it right. I tried these with Mario all-stars when I'm looking for the Level offset list. |
