Some GBA Emulators won't even play SMA4. I use the No$gmba and the Visualboyadvance. When I load it it closes automatically. Can you tell me what's wrong with it.

Flash news:

- Emulators aren't perfect
- ROM dumps are bad sometimes

You should be able to manage with those 2 pieces of information.

You most likely have a bad dump, so go buy a linker and dump the ROM yourself. It works for me, it will probably work for you if you don't get it by some random ROM site on Google.

IIRC No$gba doesn't work with dumps of size 32MB or greater (for example, Yakusoku no Chi Riviera or Kingdom Hearts.
Hope that helps

That'd help if SMA4 weren't a mere 4MB.

The new Visualboyadvance with link support should run SMA4 (check Zopars Domain), But every time I run it it says "the save data is corrupted" and won't load the game...

SMA4 needs a very large save area in order to store e-Reader levels you scan in. Set the emulator save type to "Flash 128K" and it should be fine.

The new VisualBoyAdvance. I never picked one of those yet. I still kept the older version then. If this the problem then I better get one.

EDIT: Requires DirectX 7.0 or greater for the VBA. I'll eventually will get it soon after someone at home gets me what I want.

This thread can be closed. Problem solved.

Some of the many VisualBoyAdvance builds just won't run certain roms. I've seen all regions of Advance Wars 2 (including it's half of the Japan double pack) and especially Polarium Advance not work in a few of them.
