Sorry, I was actually wondering whether it was worth spelling it all out, I guess everyone isn't as big of an SoR fan as I am.

SoR = Streets or Rage. Or Bare Knuckle in Japan... On Genesis / Mega Drive.
I reckon MD hacking is much less advanced than SNES hacking...

Stifu: I found some documents on Rom Hacking.net for you. A SoR editor would be cool to see, since that series is better than the Final Fight series in my opinion.

Racoon Sam: That's pretty cool what you whipped up.

Maybe it's just me, but that looks about as friendly as all the other SMB3 utilities that are available. Is that actual level data that's interpreted there, or is it just a bitmap?

It's just a bitmap, but this is indeed a very early beta =3..

Dang, I'm not sure if I even knew what I meant... What I mean is that it works on Mac and Windows unlike the most editors.. Please correct me If I'm using the wrong word. After all, my English is not very good.

Maybe using "Multi-OS" or simply "for Mac OS / Windows" would have been better.
Userfriendly doesn't imply anything as far as the operating system is concned.

Certainly, if you're gonna support multiple OS's, then support Linux. It's rapidly growing in popularity and the tech-savvy atmosphere around the OS means that most people would have some knowledge of or use for the editor that you're making.

Do you mind posting real screenshots instead of a Flash movie (which I can't see because Macromedia hates my platform).

Well, I like 2 better as well. I guess most people enjoy SoR 2 better because of the musics, level designs, and stuff... It just feels like a nicer and more complete package. However, SoR 3 has an undeniably better and deeper game engine. The game feels somewhat rushed and uninspired, and the difficulty is messed up (in both the Japanse and English versions) which why there is room for improvement. In other words, it has more potential for a hack than SoR 2, in my opinion...

I guess I'm not done derailing this thread after all, sorry Raccoon.

if its just a bitmap....what? So your program can load bitmap images? What if the ROM the people wanted to view was hacked? Hell, does this even read anything from the ROM? Sorry, but....I'm not seeing the point here...

I suppose this could be a test of the interface without getting into the more complicated mess of acctually reading from the ROM. One step at a time and all that.

A mini glitch.....

If half of an object (such as a block) is offscreen, the cursor will be off place. Hard to explain.

Exactly! This is exactly what I'm doing.

No it isn't. The cursor moves 16 pixels at a time, but the screen moves 8 pixels at a time.
