Haha, well, this is a thread for cypher puzzles. I'll apply a cypher I make myself to a word or phrase, or several phrases, and show you the result. Your job (If you care) is to try to figure out what the logic is behind my secret code, and explain it as well as you can. If you get the correct answer, you earn three points; There's a bonus point awarded for having the same logic, and you can earn up to another two by providing a cypher'd version of your explanation along with the English one. In general, the phrases I use will be easily recognizable once they're decoded, and I will provide a hint along with the puzzle, as well as any that people ask for. This is supposed to be fun, so don't break your head. If there are any special characters (like Japanese or something) then it'll say so; In other words, any ?s are intentional if languages aren't mentioned. An example is in order.

a2z,s?ksutnxymawvbhdqyzjtp
z.zugkdopfcuzfuqs

Now, this is a very complex code, and doesn't follow the common phrases rule. I won't bother you with the long explanation, but here it is translated:

how easy is this one?
pretty damn hard.

We'll start with some very easy ones...

#1:

{O8f3 5y3 r7h 09w58ht 3s03483hd3{

Kickoff Hint: My keyboard is too close...

#2:

reFif oetblGoe thd anr teot Pryar_H

Kickoff Hint: Little Endian

#3:

Zxnon'h ylziw

Kickoff Hint: drawkcab

There ya go. Have fun!

(The first one is rather easy. The key below it gives the proper letter.)
Solution: "Live the fun posting experience"

Gsv gsriw lmv fhvh gsv zokszyvg yzxpdziwh.
(The third one uses the alphabet backwards.)
Solution: Acmlm's board

The second one is confusing, as you have it coded and apparently scrambled. The hint isn't very helpful either, at least in my eyes.

So... Were you asking for another hint? In general, if you don't understand a hint at all, give it a google or wiki search. Really, if you knew what it meant, it would solve the puzzle for you.

4 and 5 are a little harder, in that they are put together using more than one step. Spaces have also been removed. They're still far easier than the example, though, so it's not like they're impossible.

The Second one is Little Endian format which is a hex term for Low-Byte High-Byte.

So instead of running into a big explination of Little Endian format, I will just show you this.

reFif

Translates to

Fifre

See, the last part is Low-Byte (Maybe High-Byte, it has been long since I took notes on Assembly, either way, it dosn't matter right now) and the first is High-Byte(Again with the maybe...), so you reverse them when reading it.

Hopefully that helps you guys, because I can't seem to figure it out...I will look at it a little longer though...

EDIT: Well It seems I got number four. "The sky is falling". There ya go.

#2 Harry Potter and the Gobelet of Fire

You switch two letters... I don't know how to explain it.

The correct logic of #2 was as follows (I'll do this for anything that needs more than two posters to get right and isn't explained by the solver):

First, separate the puzzle into groups of two characters (spaces included)... Looking closer, I made a mistake in this one, but there was another space you needed to add to end up with the right answer, along with some tiny scrambling. My mistake was forgetting that the board nulls additional spaces after the first...

reFif oetblGoe thd anr teot Pryar_H
re_Fi_f _ o_et_bl_Go_e _th_d _an_r _te_ot_ P_ry_ar__H

Then reverse the order of these two-character bytes, and remove the divisions.

_Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

Without my error, the solution is:

_Harry Potter and the Goblet ofFire

or

_Harry Potter and the Gobletof Fire

Make sense? In Little Endian to convert between address types, you reverse the byte order, and in this puzzle we formed bytes and switched them around.

#7:

Also, it's okay for you to discuss thoughts and guesses in here... Seems like people don't want to post until they have the answer.

Good luck, as always!

solution: World of Warcraft

#6's solution is lemonade quest.
It's like little endian, but the character pairings are also backwards.
And you don't switch them.
And I was wrong, it really isn't too much like endian.

Starting with #10, puzzles will be worth an additional point for a correct answer, an additional two points for correct logic, and another point for the encryption. So each one is worth 4+3+3 >> 10. This is because the problems will become significantly harder, and the common phrases rule will be much less applicable.

Mmkay? Good.
