At first glance, this may seem like any other cheesy '80s action cartoon. There's the typical art and animation style, the repeated defiance of the laws of physics, and the villain who conspicuously escapes only after shaking his fist and announcing said escape. But this show is truly special.

For one thing, Chuck has a mullet AND a headband. According to the fashion standards of the time, that was truly badass. His posse includes a token female, an annoying kid, a random samurai, and a sumo wrestler. Take that, A-Team! Chuck also shows up in live-action segments to dispense helpful advice about life. Yesterday, I learned that when my mom or dad tell me to do my homework before watching TV, I should listen because it will help me out in the long run. But if I hadn't watched TV, I wouldn't know to do that. I'm confused.

And then there's the sheer genius of the plot devices. The bad guys jack a space shuttle by climbing in through the window. Chuck manages to find an operational spaceship and a space suit inside a museum, and he flies into space and then uses a fire extinguisher to propel himself over to the bad guys after they blow up his ship. I should also mention that he roundhouse kicks a submarine.

Thank you, Cartoon Network, for reviving such a blast from the past.

When Chuck Norris gives advice, you can hear it with the tv off.

Heh...I wonder if that's on anywhere. I also wonder if that show ever had Chuck wearing anything as ridiculous as the following (from today's episode):

White crop top that looked like a sports bra, wide white armband (the bottom of the crop top?), white headband, orange neckerchief. Pants too, obviously. Overall effect - aerobics instructor gone horribly wrong. I mean, I remember metal bands wearing silly skintight outfits and big hair, and I remember that, on some level, that was considered to be stylin' and badass, but this getup seemed a tad foofy even for its time. I so have to screencap that outfit and make an avatar out of it.

Wow when I first watched this show out of pure curiosity of wondering what it was about besides Chuck Norris. I laughed during the first couple of minutes and randomly throughout the show. It was the episode (if Rydain has been watching since it came on sunday I think... she'll get what I'm saying) where Chuck Norris was chasing after the bad guys in another country, after he jumps on a jet ski to rescue Too Much (literally the kid's name) and jumps on the dock where two guys are fishing. He then jumps on the bike and makes the owner say "Hey that's my bike!" Chuck looks over and says "It's ok, kids! I'm Chuck Norris!"

I couldn't help but crack up at that line. LMAO! Such a cheesy action '80s cartoon I think.

I think USA still runs it in the morning. I watched half an episode a few days ago. There was this guy holding people hostage at some sort of fancy dinner, and he went over and beat up some old man (that seems to happen alot in that show), then he stabbed the old man, and he falls on the ground and lays there for a while, apparently not dying.
Later on, Walker's sidekick runs and see the old man on the floor and grabs a phone from a random spot off camera (that clearly didn't have a phone a moment ago, and not a cell phone either, one with a cord and everything), and yells "We need an paramedic here, quick!", and hangs up, never dialing or mentioning where "here" is.
Meanwhile, Walker chases the bad guy through the building, which basically was a shot of the bad guy running, a shot of Walker running down a hallway, a shot the bad guy runnning, a shot of Walker turning a corner in the hallway, a shot of the bad guy running, a shot of Walker running down the exact same hallway he was in a moment ago...etc, etc for 5 solid minutes. It was like a Tom and Jerry cartoon, where you see the same lamp and window go by 15 times.
Finally the the bad guy goes into a room where for whatever reason, there's a manhole in the middle of the floor. He climbs down the hole, and then Walker runs into the room, looks at the manhole for a few seconds, then goes and pushes on the walk for a little bit, then looks down the hole, and then finds a cabinet with a flashlight in it, and finally goes down the hole. I have no idea why he was pushing on the wall.
So I flipped to something else for a while, and flipped back and now the bad guy was dressed up like an old man, a Walker was beating him up.

An X-15 isn't a space ship. Not that Chuck Norris seems to care.

You also seem to be ignoring the fact that they murdered physics for this. I mean he jumps from a plane onto a parachuting truck (!?) onto a parachuting guy, and threatens the parachuting guy with apparently letting go and falling to death.

And let's not forget the bat wings.

Or Super Ninja.

Or how Deadly Dolphin had no deadly dolphins.

And the fact that for some reason also there's magic.

Those were the weakest zombies ever.

To get all serious for a bit, I believe the reason for this was that there was actually a law for a time wherein shows deemed "for children" had to have a certain amount of "educational content" in them.

Yeah, don't forget that show with Mr.T in it.

That 'Chuck Norris Karate Kommandos' show was awesome!
"I will use sealab to take control of all the oceans in the world!"

I mean, we got a sumo guy, Chuck Norris and a samarai warrior fighting a crapload of ninjas. What more could you want?

Alastor - If I accounted for every instance of making the laws of physics cry out in pain, I'd wear out my keyboard. Those zombies were pretty sad, though. They even had one in a business suit. Was he their secret leader or something?

Emptyeye - As I recall, the sub was underwater. Chuck roundhouse kicked its control panel. So it probably wasn't quite as unbelievable as you'd imagined, but it still counts as roundhouse kicking a submarine. At least I think so.

Valcion - Yes. Yes, it does. And I think they should duel to the death with the snakes on a plane.

Yeah, the way I had envisioned it had him on the outside of it, kicking its hull or whatever it is subs have.

My way was much cooler.

But that is still pretty silly.

It's airing on Adult Swim (or it WAS...). Don't they offer a service to get their shows?
