I'm playing through the original Red again, it's quite amusing really.

Also the AI cheats in Stadium. Not sure about Stadium 2.
HyperHacker I still don't want you talking about competitive pokemon. It's kind-of pathetic.

Alastor, don't start please .-.;; he has as much of a right as you would to talk about it.

Back on topic, I remember when the original games came out, my mom bought the Red version for herself and my sister got Green, and I ordered the special Blue version from a magazine. It was great memories battling and trading with my family, and I still love to play the games today because of how fun they are. My mom even used to play competetivly! She has the new games, but, I don't think she competes any longer. Gold and Silver are my favorite of the series, but, the original games will always hold a place in my heart

My parents wouldn't get me the games. So, everyday me and my friend Lee would get together and play Pokemon for HOURS. We each had 100% games. All of our team and our backup team at lvl. 100 without rare candy. Then Yellow came out and we became even more competitive with each other and that's when I developed a dependance on Slowbro. When Gold/Silver came out in Japanese on the computer (or shitty translation) I was enthralled. I <3'd it really a lot. Then Ru/Sa came out. I bought them both and made uber-teams to defeat my friends. Then LG/FR came out...and again. I was drawn in. However, I stopped caring about it a lot when I realized Nintendo hated me and hid way too much in their games from people who don't live in NYC and Tokyo or something.

Perhaps, but he's pretty terrible at it, and... Seriously. Poor balance? Bad RNG? Cheap AI? He just has no idea what he's talking about. It's the equivalent of going into an FF7 thread for newbies and recommending everyone spend time levelling Aeris - freaking stupid. I am particularly amused by the insinuation that G/S was better, when it was far and away the least balanced series.

It's something that gets played competitively.

Tournaments are held for money.

It is therefore a sport.

You might win money, but they hold them for FUN. When you take it too seriously, it becomes not fun. G/S had a good story line, some nice interactive features, and many other things that made me like it. Take it for what it is, a game.

Alastor, I think Ziff and Yoro have been too nice about this, so...

This shit ends now. Any continued bitching between you and Hyper will get this thread closed. I'm sick of seeing this shit from you every single time the topic comes up.

So coin flipping can be considered a sport now?

World Championship Coin-Flipping! High-stakes Coin Toss! I can see it now!

Alastor: Get over it. Wether you like it or not, R&B has these "features":

1. Random AI. Moves are always random, pokemon order is never changed and none of them are ever recalled, at least when I've played
2. Bad RNG. Every move - yes, even Swift - has a 1/256 chance to miss. Righto.
3. It's just one big fucking glitch.

And there was poor balance. HELLO PSYCHIC CLASS PLEASE KICK MY ASS IN ONE MOVE (OR LESS) THANKS

yep, psychic type is very rigged, they suppose to be weak to ghost type and there only one ghost type attack(lick) and all ghost pokemon are also poison... which is weak to psychic

Lick wasn't ghost then, so if you are going with current moves, Shadow Ball is a solid ghost move. It is also weak to bug, and now dark. Red was also coded by a monkey with a Z80 assembler, that game had so many glitches it wasn't funny

Well duh. RBY is pretty terrible.

It could be worse, though.

It could be GSC, where high-level play is basically everyone using a set of the same 15 things and the match never ends until about 600+ turns in.

Cheveyo: Go ahead and close the thread. I certainly don't like dealing with this stuff, and if you do then I don't have to defend logical argument against ridiculous opinionated bullcrap.

Edit: Also, lick was ghost then but the thing is that ghost was glitched and was actually not effective at all on psychic.

You don't have to do a goddamn thing, Alastor. You could just as easily shut the fuck up and go somewhere else.

Now, if this was anyone except you, I'd consider being nicer, but you've done the same goddamn thing in every single Pokemon-related thread that I can recall seeing. You're making me wish we had forumbans again (and fixed to work properly...)
