Unpredictable. Watch your backs. Or not. Whichever. I want Metal Gear Solid 4 so badly.

Depends where you are. Some of the gamestops around here expect to have it in by Wednesday, which is when I plan to buy it and start playing it.

I'll have to wait a month or so. Which kind of sucks, I don't even have my PS2 right now.

Buy the game for yourself, and something else for your mother?

I mean, I don't know about you, but my mother's birthday was never devoted solely to worshipping her the entire day, I did have time for other things.

Edit: I got the game today!

Interesting near-tragedy.

I went over to EB, and for the first time ever THEY LET ME DOWN! I waltzed up to, let's call him Overweight Living-with-Mother Man, and the following is an accurate description of what happened:

Me: Hello, good sir!
Overweight Living-with-Mother Man: Shut up and tell me what you want.
Me: Fine, let's get down to buisness. I pre-ordered Kingdom Hea-
Overweight Living-with-Mother Man: Not on stock yet.
Me: Uhh, wha'?
Overweight Living-with-Mother Man: The manager told us not to put it up until tomorow.
Me: But you guys said that you were releasing it today just this weekend!
Overweight Living-with-Mother Man: *Grunts*
Me: I pre-ordered it under those expectations! This is false advertisement!
Overweight Living-with-Mother Man: Meh.
Me: [string of obscenities]
Overweight Living-with-Mother Man: Oh wait! I hear the pitter patter of fries in the food court! Don't worry, greasy morsels, I shall eat you! *Flies away*
Me: ... WTF!?!

So yeah, I drive out of there pissed as a mad race horse, and stop at the local Best Buy, since the only thing that would piss me off even more is finding out that I drove away and they had it all along. Well, they did, and I only lost $5 for pre-ordering at EB, so I'm happy.

Now, for the first scene of the game... it's just... really... oh...

My mother says that when she does go grocery shopping this week she will get Kingdom Hearts II.

...and it won't be tomorrow...
I have been waiting for this game for so long now, and now that it is out I can't get it as soon as possible. Yet my sister automatically gets Harry Potter whenever a new DVD comes out the day of the release. Makes me so mad...

So, for those of you that have played it, how is it thus far?

I have sadly not played it yet. My family had plans tonight, and I just got home. But in just a few minutes I will go downstairs and pop it into the PS2. I am excited. First time I've gotten a game on its release date.

Explain these trigger commands.

Trigger commands are supposedly a context-sensitive battle command. Kinda like being able to execute certain special moves at certain ranges, but more like Dante's devil trigger in DMC, or, say... being able to roll out of an enemy's way in Wind Waker when the time is just right.

Definantly more like the latter, except you can stack trigger commands on trigger commands to pull of artsy combos against enemies and bosses. Also, the drive feature is awsome to an extreme.

TOO MANY CUTSCENES! It takes about 3 hours before you see the title of the game appear or you really even do anything interesting. And to top it off, about 45 minutes of that is playing time. I was watching my friend play it and it took too long just to finish the first part! GASLKJAFLKJ At least there wasn't a 3 hour tutorial like some people said. Sion... what's with the freaky things in the white jumpsuits, or as me and my friend call them, "jiz people". Those things are odd.

Well, that 3 hours you mentioned IS the 3 hour tutorial people are talking about. Because really, that's essentially what it is. And not nearly as pleasant a tutorial as Destiny Islands was in the original. I've got to say, I did enjoy fighting Tidus, Wakka, and Selphie in that one.

And I'm a decent ways in now, and I still don't really know what's going on. It's been a while since I played Chain of Memories, maybe I should go read the script of that if it's online somewhere, might refresh my memory a bit.
