Surprised there isn't a topic on this.

Yeah, I'm not very far into it, maybe 3 hours, but it seems like a great game. Some of the monsters actually made me laugh just by their names and appearences and sudden randomness, but seriously, it's a great game. Traditional to other DQs that I've actually gotten into a little, never beat one sadly.

So uh... what do you guys think?

Does Jessica really wear the Goof Off outfit from DQ3 or is that just in Fan-fiction I read.

I just started to play DQ8 about 2 weeks ago and I loved it. Sadly I haven't beating a DQ game either and I played all of them lol. I do plan on beating this one for sure and go back to the other ones for the nes and super nes for another try.

Yes, I know this is an old thread that I'm bumping, but I'd like to get it up in the top to see if anyone else who's around has played it. I got it for Christmas, but because I was in England for the better part of the last 3 months I didn't beat it until just tonight. It's a really great game, and the visuals are some of the best on the PS2, I'd have to say, particularly when you're flying.

Also, as a fan of DQ3 I'm happy to see the references to that (as well as DQ4) included in the game.

So anyone else currently active play this?

Well, she's certainly not dressed as a bunny girl, which is how the goof-off is dressed in the GBC version of the game, both in the game and the artwork. I've been trying to find the artwork of the NES version, since you can only tell so much from the little sprite, which I suppose you could arguably say sort of looks like that. But it's a bit of a stretch.

D00D, Bradley and I totally had her dressed as a bunny girl, as well as an exotic dancer. XDDD You just have to have the right armor on her all at the same time.

Well, yes, you CAN dress her as a bunny girl, but I think he was asking about her default costume. You can also dress her in two bustiers that change her appearance...one is the worst armor in the game stat-wise, and one is in fact the best. And then there's the dancer's costume, and her original clothes, in addition to her normal outfit. So she's got at least 6 costumes.

The hero has an extra costume too, with the post-game armor and helmet equipped (contrary to what some have said, you don't need the matching shield or sword equipped for this). Still, I wish they had included his Trodain-soldier costume (since after all, as seen in cutscenes it IS in the game, even if not fully animated), as well as additional costumes for Angelo and Yangus.
