I just have been working on the first stage's tileset, some sort of Island (stolen from Wario Land 4, edited to fit in SMW)

Attempting to code in a indestructable obstacle/enemy from megaman 4 onto 3. half done with it
i take screenshots of stuff like this on clean roms ...because i don't want to give a screenshot of it from my hack. Got the tiles animating just like it does on mm4 ...but it doesn't move or do anything else yet... edit: got the sprite moving left and right now, acts like a enemy ...but at certain times it does stuff it shouldn't do ...falling off ledges, getting stuck in walls sometimes. ..well ..it's working nonetheless, hehe. just a bit more to figure out. Regarding RockMan's post-
That jump doesn't look too hard to me. The blue looks nice, but it sorta gives the impression that it's a dark level. Is that what you're going for? What are your plans for TopMan's stage anyway? Just out of curiosity. |

I thought about how cool the Dark Overworld was for Zelda, so I decided to do a similar thing for this level. However, it didn't really turn out as good I thought it would. I don't really like it. It works for Zelda, but not here. The jump isn't that hard to make. And if you can't make it, just keep trying. You should be able to get it in a few tries. What I am doing is redesigning the levels, but keeping the theme intact. Also, the game will be harder. I also plan on doing some major ASM hacking, making this game emphasize more on "Action". Meaning, it will be faster paced, there will be more enemies, and you will be able to whip out every single weapon with a touch of a button, and just blow away everything in your sight. Rapid fire weapons, and stronger bosses. I am confident that I can do a major overhaul to the game's engine. Here are a couple of fresh screenshots. (edited by Rockman on 04-02-06 08:02 PM) |

Yes, there will be graphics changes, but I'm not going to go crazy with all of the graphics in the game. I'm really not that good at graphics, and I don't want to ruin the quality of the game with bad graphics. If this transformation is still in the ROM, I'll look into it. It seems that a few people are interested in this transformation.
One of the new weapons I want to add, is a Flamethrower. It will keep shooting blazing fire by holding down the button. I already have in mind how I'm going to draw the graphics for that! I'm so excited! |
