Kurima: Heh. We can always count on Glenn on things from time to time.

Nalon: Alright.

Nalon takes note that Nova's outside, while JD still isn't.

Nalon: That man still isn't out? Don't tell me I gotta sic Cojiro after 'im. Marin!

Marin: Yessum?

Nalon: Go an' take care of the lazy bum in the barn!

Marin: Okay, Nalon!

Marin stopped running after the cuccos, and started walking towards the barn. Before she stepped inside, she picked up a stick.

JD suddenly felt something poking him in the cheek, so he instinctively swatted at it with his hand. This, however, only caused the poking to strengthen. In his half-awake state, JD opened one eye to see what was going on.

JD: Wha...?

What he saw was Marin, standing over him, and poking his face with a stick.

JD: Urgh...

Without so much as a word, JD stood up, walked out of the barn, went over to Zig, untied her from the post, and climbed on top. Zig then walked over to where Glenn and Nova were standing.

Marin eventually opened up the two main barn doors.

Marin: That sleepy head could probably sleep through a cucco attack.

Nalon: Well, looks like you--

Marin: You forgot about Johnny's horse!

Marin brought a horse over to Johnnathan's side. However, it didn't seem like he was moving.

Nalon: ... Well, I'm sure he'll get on as soon as you fellas start movin' along. Anyways.. The nearest station should be halfway to Kakariko. Now remember, you need either Glenn or Johnnathan to get in for free.

Kurima: You should also head for the South Eastern Bowl first, since it's more closer.... unless you have the misfortune of being stuck with going the longer route, then go for Katsuyo Bayou. *sighs* Please come back as soon as possible. Good luck.

JD did not respond to any of this. His head was tilted as if looking at the ground or his horse's neck, but his hat was once again obscuring his face. Zig, however, nodded and snorted as if to acknowledge the information.

Nova: So are we all going to the main places together, or are we going to split up so as to find the necessary components more quickly?

((What?))

((Well, you'll need to tell me approximately what to expect via AIM or something, and I'll fill in the details...and you can always control any problems that get in our way))

Nova: Eh, I could do the mission on my own is need be. Saddle up and we'll get moving.

Nova hops up onto the great sabrecat's back and motions for the others to follow him as he heads towards the gate.

((Oh no, I don't plan on saying what to expect until you get there. ))

Kurima: Alright, girls! The revival of Gato!

Kurima lit a flame inside Gato, and closed the panel. She took a few steps back and stood still.

Marin: Aaahmm... Nothing's happenin'.

Kurima: Patience, Marin! It takes a while for it to start up.

Puffs of smoke started to come out from the top of Gato's head.

Just then, Gato stood up, causing the wagon to break apart. Gato starts to 'flex' his arms. Marin and Nalon begin to clap.

Marin: Wow!

Gato pulls out a small object out from a backpanel and holds it up to its head.

Gato: My name is Gato, I have metal joints, beat me up and earn 15 silver points!

All of a sudden, there was a metallic scratching coming from Gato's head.

Gato: Aaah Gonzalez-uh! Ah enasunooooooiii~!

Gato slowly leaned forward, giving Kurima the hint to move out of the way. Gato landed face first into the ground, kicking up a bit of dirt.

Marin: What happened, Auntie Kurima?!

Kurima walked up to the metallic heap, and looked down on it. She kneeled down and saw an arrow was lodged in the back of its head.

Kurima: Hikari?

Nalon: What?! That girl's supposed to be in bed! Ooooh!

Nova: What the hell?

The rogue turns around as the spectacle begins and the robot starts......singing? And then it fell into the earth.

Nova: Jeez, she just won't let you start that up...I'm starting to think she doesn't like that thing.

Johnathan: "It looks like your robots' biggest fan is not exactly appreciative of his latest work, Miss Kurima..."

He inspected Gato's body, and the arrow that stuck out of the back of his head. Johnathan knew he would be able to fix it up later on, provided he had a general schematic of how Gato worked.

"If you like, I can fix him for you later on... Maybe I can make his voice less unpleasant to hear?"

Kurima immediately shot a glare at Johnnathan.

Kurima: Get going! You're supposed to be taking off with them!! Go! Go! Go!

Kurima was already shoving Johnnathan back to his horse.

Kurima: I can take care of it! Go!

Nova: You know, with some scrap metal and a bit more info, I might be able to build a bunch of those. I'm not the most technically oriented, but good enough.

Sabor seemed rather impatient, as he walked towards the gate again.

Nova: Erm, but now I think we should probably get going.

Johnathan: "You clearly are not much of a resident of these parts, sir. That robot is one of the most advanced pieces of technology on the planet. It would take much more than a dabbling of knowledge from some backwater mercenary to mass-produce one."

He scoffed at Nova as he got on his horse and took off after the group. The rusty mare's hooves clattered on the fresh earth, bringing Johnathan closer to the party and farther away from Gato, Nova, Outset Ranch, and into a whole new mess of troubles.

Nova: Well, I'm hardly a backwater mercenary. I've done work all over the world.

Nova urged Sabor on to the rest of the group.

Nova: And please...stop calling me a mercenary. I'm looking to get away from the work I've been doing, and that includes shedding titles.

The travelers' voices were almost inaudible by now as Nalon stood staring at everyone who had left. She waited until it seemed like they were gone. She then let out a sigh as she turned around.

Nalon: I'm not glad about the folk who're gonna save Hikari.

Kurima: Glenn and Johnnathan are with them. We don't need to worry about Hikari's safety.

Kurima's eyes were fixed on Gato, as she managed to push Gato enough to open up the panel that housed the fire.

Nalon: Course we have to worry! There's somethin' wrong with trying to ditch a horse and sayin' ya want a ride in return. And that mercenary--

Kurima: I know, Nalon.

Nalon: If they'd stuck 'round long enough, we woulda dealt with whatever old snakes that were looked at wrong by 'em.

Kurima: We knew this day would come, Nalon.. Ever since we were left alone with the ranch.

Nalon: I know..

GM JDavis:

...

GM JDavis:

...

GM JDavis: FASUTO FOWARUDO!

----------

By the time the makeshift group reached the train station, the sun had already gained a fair amount of height in the sky. The initial small talk had given way to almost complete silence on the way here, and JD hadn't said anything at all.

As they stopped at the station, Zig reared up a small amount for a moment.

JD: *yaaaawn* We're here already?

JD got off of Zig and stretched a little.

Glenn: ... You've been asleep this entire time?

JD: A little rest never hurt anybody.

Glenn glanced at a clock hanging on one side of the station.

Glenn: The train for the South East Bowl will be leaving soon, so we'd better go ahead and get on. Johnathan can show you two to the passenger cars, and I'll take Zig here to the livestock car.

As Glenn went to reach for Zig's reigns, the horse gave out a less than approving neigh.

Glenn: *reaches hand back a little* Er...

JD: It's alright, Zig.

Zig: *sigh*

This time Zig let Glenn take the reigns, and he lead her toward the livestock car.

Nova: Erm...Sabor's pretty well-behaved in general, but I think it'd be best if he came with us into the main train.

The great sabrecat seemed a bit taken aback by this, which is somewhat surprising, as it's hard to imagine how that could be visible. But it was.

Nova: Just because if the horses get antsy and decide they don't like him, it might end badly for them.

A skinny man wearing ticket taker's clothes had walked by, and took notice of Nova's... ride.

Ticket Taker: Oh, my! What a large kitty!

The man flinched the moment Sabor looked at him.

Ticket Taker: .A-ah.. S-sir. I r-regret t-to inform you th-that your... cat cannot b-be with th-the main c-cars. The p-p-passengers will not feel comfortab-b-ble. You c-c-can take him t-to the back car, th-though. It was m-made for d-delicate c-c-c-cargo. And-and-and for d-dangerous b-beasts.

------------------------

Nalon: Honestly! They're goin' out there, riskin' their lives for ya, and what do ya do? Jumpin' on a buncha logs!

Nalon had discovered Hikari, still wearing her nightgown, collapsed out where Johnnathan had laid out the pegs.

Marin: Sis, please stay in bed..

Marin and Nalon were slowly dragging Hikari back to the house. Hikari didn't say anything, nor did she even give any emotions on her face. Her eyes were completely glazed over.

Kurima stared at Hikari, while standing over Gato's inactive body.

Kurima: You might as well strap her in. This is the second time she's knocked Gato out today. Oh, the poor thing.. It's not even speaking properly anymore.

Gato: AaAAHHhhhhHHhhh GoooNZaaallleezzzz........uh.
