| Well, as far as I know, you need the Sinker Lure (it can be found in the fishing pond itself), and you still don't have any guarantee of catching it. It was quite easy to catch, though, despite its weight.
I only got it once. =/ |

| I also catched the loach, and I also used the sinking lure. I think it actually get's up to surface sometimes or something so it might be possible to catch it with the regular lure.

| You can talk to the manager with the sink lure, ask him "let's talk about something". He says something, and if I recall correctly, he allows the sink lure. But you have to do it before you catch a fish with it. | |||

| Odd, last I remember, even if you do talk about the sinking lure with the Fisherman, it'll still be illegal to use. And you don't necessarily need the sinking lure to catch the loach. I caught it without it. The loach sometimes pops up for air or something, that's when you can lure it over.
And forget the Fisherman's hat. Real men take the Fishing Rod outside. |

| Can you get anything out of taking the fishing rod outside?
I suppose it IS a bit more exciting than the fishing in the original Harvest Moon, anyway. That was dull. But if you got lucky and hooked a fish, that was good money. |

| Actually, taking the fishing rod outside is one of the major ways to cause the "swordless Link" glitch to occur. It only hangs if you actually, you know, try to fish where you shouldn't be fishing. |
